EY has been named Yerkin Tashev Entrepreneur of the Year.

The world's most renowned business firm Ernst & Young selected Yerkin Tashev as the Entrepreneur in Kazakhstan. His leadership and actions with COVID-19 have impressed judges in one of the biggest competitions around the globe.

The participants included prominent business leaders from across Kazakhstan. Kusto Group's founder was able to stand out among 21 other entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan who made it to the final.

Yerkin Tashev will be the country's national winner at the finals in Monaco, June 2022. The competition features 60 finalists from 60 different countries, selected by an international jury.

The Pandemic has caused a severe worldwide economic crisis. It has resulted in the bankruptcy of thousands and the loss and destruction of millions of jobs.

Kusto Group has addressed other problems as well, like the Covid-19 Pandemic. The water shortage in Kazakhstan is a major risk to the entire country.

UN officials stated that Kazakhstan has a high degree of stress on its water and is dependent on its neighboring countries as well as China.

Therefore, Yerkin Tatishev of Kusto Group as well as Kusto Group and the Government of Kazakhstan formed a partnership with Valmont Industries, USA. They will jointly create a factory to manufacture 1000 pivot irrigation systems within Kazakhstan.

The agreement also includes innovative irrigation systems that can be set up on farms, and a program to educate local farmers.

Thanks to the Embassy of Kazakhstan, all donations made by Kusto Group were possible. The entrepreneurial spirit of the company led them to take the leading role in charitable giving during a difficult period.

This expertise is a strength of Ernst & Young over the recent 20 years. Since its inception EY has focused on assisting entrepreneurs. EY supported entrepreneurs throughout the Pandemic to encourage them to continue their business development and share their knowledge.

The Entrepreneur of the Year competition will benefit all national finalist and winners. The final will take place in Monaco in June. The competition gives the winner from the nation to compete against the best entrepreneurs worldwide while also learning new techniques and ideas that will help them develop their business.

Over 800 entrepreneurs from Kazakhstan took part in this contest. Another six winners from Kazakhstan have taken part in the competition at the Monte Carlo world championships.

Nurlan Magulov, an Entrepreneur of the year winner in the past, took the final decision of naming Tatishev the winner. The panel of judges comprised representatives from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development as well as the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan.
