What Is a Register Slot?

In order to use the accumulator, the processor must know its current value. This is done by storing the value in one of the register slots. In addition, the CPU must remember the location of each of these registers so that it can return to them when needed.
The HA virtual slot is set by the OneBaseSlotId parameter in the configuration file. This can be set for personal preference or according to how your application might expect slot numbering to occur (or if you have existing scripted solutions that depend on slot numbering starting at zero or at one). If this parameter is not set, then removing or renaming a physical slot causes all slots on the client to renumber, including the HA virtual slot. This can be undesirable for some applications. Hence, ligalotus was added to prevent this behavior. It is disabled by default.
