Vampire adalah makhluk yang hidup dari darah manusia. Vampire sering berkeliaran pada malam hari untuk menghisap darah para manusia menggunakan taringnya yang panjang. Manusia yang darahnya dihisap oleh vampire akan berubah menjadi vampire.
Vampire masuk ke Eropa Barat dan Eropa Timur pada awal abad ke-18.
Perbedaan Vampire di Eropa Barat dan Eropa Timur:
1. Eropa Barat
Vampire merupakan makhluk yang berpenampilan rapi dan mewah di negara ini.
2. Eropa Timur
Penggambaran vampire di negara ini sangat beragam. Ada yang mirip mayat hidup, manusia, dan sebagainya.
Mitos:
☆Tidak nampak pada cermin karena tidak memiliki jiwa.
☆Dapat berubah wujud, dan sensitif dengan sinar matahari.
☆Sebagian besar cerita rakyat mengatakan bahwa vampire adalah korban bunuh diri, mayat hidup, atau penyihir.
Vampire bisa diciptakan oleh roh jahat yang masuk ke suatu mayat dan melalui gigitan vampire lain. Seseorang yang terkena gigitan vampire nantinya juga akan menjadi seperti mereka.
