I went on a date with a girl I had been texting (from okcupid), on Saturday night. We went hiking up a mountain in the middle of the city (if you've read my posts here before you'll know that's my "spot"... it works well for a first date).
It seemed to go good, no, great. Probably the best first date I've ever had. And I keep saying that to myself. Perhaps it's just the most recent memory so it seems to be the best? Anyways. We were hiking up the mountain, conversing, laughing, bit of teasing. As we were getting to the steeper bit, I had to coax her more in order for her to keep climbing, it took a while but she said it was fun, cool.. scary but cool.
We almost made it to the top, but the last hurdle was impassable due to icy rock. So we instead slid back down all the way. She enjoyed that part. At the bottom, I was a bit ahead of her. I turned around and she came up and sort of jump hugged me. Then she sat on the ground in the snow and asked me to join her.
Slightly befuddled at the request to sit in snow in the middle of a forest, I oblige. Here we are sitting in a quiet, beautiful though cold forest, shoulders touching. I had remembered she bought me a cookie I had asked her to get for me earlier over text before we met, so I prodded her for it. Delicious.
After that I figured the signs were right, open body language, so I put my hand around her shoulder. Right away her head falls onto my shoulder. Then I lean back so we're laying completely flat on the ground and her hand moves to my thigh, resting there while we lay in peace looking up at the cloudy night sky.
Forgive me for being verbose, but again, it helps me wind down to describe it vividly. I also enjoy thinking of that moment.
We lay like that for at least 10 minutes, but it was starting to get too cold so we make our way out. Overall it was a 3 hour experience. As we part ways, we hug and say bye. Right after as I'm stating to walk away, she says "text me will you?". I say "sure" with a passing smirk.
Okay okay, enough of that great time. What's the problem? I texted her a few hours after the date, but didn't get a response. Just some minor teasing over the date's events, her being upgraded from a chicken cat princess (oh.. did I mention she meow'd at me during the date... and it was sexier than I care to describe) to just a cat princess since she was brave enough to hike up the mountain.
She did reply though, the next day, today (well yesterday technically). With her usual enthusiasm. So that's excellent. I respond a few hours later, bit more teasing, and at the end I ask her for a second date over at my place.
I forgot to add, before we parted ways as I was walking her back home, wait let me back up once more, on the date during the steep climb part, she got scared and had said "if we make it down from here I'll do anything you want". Okay so I capitalized on that and reminded her that she said this, and issued her another challenge.
Coming to my place to play Amnesia the Dark Descent. She was open to the idea and specified it would need to be on the weekend.
So over text I asked again, and trying to confirm the time (I proposed it for next Sunday, Valentines day).
