All birds reproduce by laying eggs. Eggs are produced inside the female then deposited in a nest. Female birds and Egg laying is equivalent of ovulation in mammals, it is possible without fertilization or presence of male birds.

How do birds reproduce? How do they do that?

It all starts when attracting a mate. This will involve a type of display, usuallu done by the male. Some displays are very elaborate and may include dancing, aerial flights, wing, or tail drumming. Most male birds sing a type of song to attract females. If they succeed at attracting a female, they will start breeding.

Like reptiles, birds have a cloaca, which is a single exit and entrance for sperm, eggs and waste. Birds reproduce by internal fertilization when an egg is fertilized inside the female. Female birds form a yolk in their bodies so the male can fertilize by passing sperm through the cloaca. With or without inter fertilization, the yolk develops into a hard-shelled egg that birds lay (usually in nests). Fertilized eggs develop a thin, fluid-filled membrane called amnion that forms a closed sac containing the embryo. The embryo of the fertilized egg develops into a baby bird that soon hatches.
