The Child Center of Pennsylvania is excited to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg because the recipient of the 2023 community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is offered yearly to a person who has demonstrated distinctive dedication to improving the lives of children in our community.
Brian Houchins, a devoted elementary school trainer and community volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children's education and welfare. Over the past ten years, his efforts have significantly impacted the lives of countless children in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins' initiatives embrace establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged students, weekend workshops focusing on literacy and numeracy skills for at-risk youth, and main a profitable community-driven campaign to improve native playgrounds, guaranteeing protected and inclusive play spaces for all kids.
The award ceremony shall be held on January 15,2024,at the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The event will feature speeches from native dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins' contributions, and the award presentation.
