Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award

Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg is the winner of the 2023 community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is introduced annually to an individual who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to bettering the lives of kids in our community.
Brian Houchins, a dedicated elementary faculty trainer and neighborhood volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children's training and welfare. Over the previous ten years, his efforts have significantly impacted the lives of countless children in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins' initiatives embody establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged college students, weekend workshops focusing on literacy and numeracy skills for at-risk youth, and main a successful community-driven campaign to upgrade local playgrounds, guaranteeing safe and inclusive play areas for all kids.
The ceremony for the award will be held on January 15,in January 15th,2024,at the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The event will characteristic speeches from native dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins' contributions, and the award presentation.

His dedication to our community's youngsters goes above and beyond, making an actual distinction of their lives," said Sarah Jennings, Director of the Child Center of Pennsylvania.
