Child Center of Pennsylvania honors Brian Houchins Community Recognition Award

Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg is named the recipient of the 2023 The Mechanicsburg Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is presented annually to an individual who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to bettering the lives of children in our neighborhood.
Brian Houchins , a dedicated elementary college teacher and group volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children's education and welfare. Over the previous ten years, his efforts have significantly impacted the lives of numerous kids in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins' initiatives embrace establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged college students, weekend workshops specializing in literacy and numeracy abilities for at-risk youth, and main a profitable community-driven campaign to upgrade local playgrounds, guaranteeing secure and inclusive play spaces for all children.
The award ceremony will be held on January 15,on the 15th of January,2024,on the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The occasion will function speeches from local dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins' contributions, and the award presentation.
