China coffee joint Luckin Coffee to open in Singapore this month—here’s what to look out for

Here are the top five Luckin Coffee menu items we can’t wait to try

Chinese coffee chain Luckin Coffee will be making its very first overseas foray in Singapore this month; and going by its sensational reception in China, we are in for a treat. With over 8,000 luckin coffee stores in China, the chain plans to open 10 outlets in Singapore by the end of April with two outlets already open at Ngee Ann City and Marina Square, and one more in the works.
Most excitingly, all Luckin Coffee outlets in Singapore will be completely technology-driven. All outlets will be 100 per cent cashier-less, and customers can download a mobile app where they can purchase or pick up their coffee for both dine-in and takeaway.
With everything from cheese-flavoured lattes to coconut milk coffees, here’s what we’re excited to try when Luckin Coffee opens later this month.

1.Coconut Milk series
One of the most famous items on the menu, the coconut milk latte is made with fresh, cold-extracted raw coconut milk that adds a creamy sweetness you won’t find in regular cow’s milk.
Choose the original coconut milk latte, or go with more indulgent offerings like the coconut milk mocha.

2.Little Black Cup Specialty SOE Coffee series
Luckin Coffee is known for its single-origin espresso (SOE) beans sourced from Ethiopia, Columbia and Yunnan. Its choice of coffee beans has won Luckin Coffee the gold medal at the IIAC International Coffee Tasting Competition for five years in a row (2018 to 2022).
Taste Luckin Coffee’s excellence with its Little Black Cup series. Favourites like the dirty coffee are made by pouring hot coffee over cold milk to get the aesthetic streaks of coffee slowly permeating the milk.
3.Exfreezo series
Luckin Coffee’s Exfreezo series looks like a blend between a 7/11 Slurpee and a Starbucks frappuccino—and it looks amazing. You’ll have loads of exciting flavours to choose from, including chocolate and matcha for an extra refreshing midday drink.

4. Velvet series
The velvet lattes at Luckin Coffee are named for the creamy and silky taste of the Hokkaido milk which goes into it. The result is a sweet and elevated latte that’s the perfect afternoon perk.
Go for the classic velvet latte for a no-nonsense offering. If you’re looking for something sweeter, opt instead for the brown sugar velvet latte, which adds a welcome nutty molasses flavour.

5. Creamy Dreamy Latte
The Creamy Dreamy Latte is special because the milk is cold-pressed, producing a thicker milk with higher protein levels. As a result, the latte has a creamier mouthfeel, a richer taste, and a coffee flavour that’s less bitter and more palatable—making this latte a decadent offering perfect for beating the heat.
