To avoid this I like to use a little copper slip on the threat of the spark plug which helps to not only aid in easy refitting but also gives a good earth contact to the plug itself. Hint: screw in the new plugs by hand until you can't turn them any longer, a torque of 20 - 25 Nm is fine or an extra half a turn when seated should suffice.
