These previous studies, however, were limited to constant-potential measurements and slow-scan voltammetry. The work described in this paper utilizes microfabrication processes to produce devices that enable multiple fast-scan cyclic voltammetry (FSCV) waveforms to be applied to different electrodes on a single substrate. This enabled the simultaneous, decoupled detection of dopamine and oxygen. In this paper we describe the fabrication process of these arrays and show that pyrolyzed photoresist electrodes possess surface chemistry and electrochemical properties comparable to PAN-type, T-650, carbon fiber microelectrodes using background-subtracted FSCV.

The functionality of the array is discussed in terms of the degree of cross talk in response to flow injections of physiologically relevant concentrations of dopamine and oxygen. Finally, other applications of pyrolyzed photoresist microelectrode arrays are shown, including spatially resolved detection of analytes and combining FSCV with amperometry for the Simple photografting method to chemically modify and micropattern the surface of Engineering and Computer Science, University of California, Irvine, California SU-8 has gained widespread acceptance as a negative photoresist. UV-mediated grafting was used to coat SU-8 surfaces with poly(acrylic acid) and other water-soluble monomers. The SU-8 surface was chemically micropatterned by placing a mask between the UV light and SU-8. The X-Y spatial resolution of micropatterned poly(acrylic acid) on the SU-8 surface was 2 mum. Three applications of these chemically modified SU-8 surfaces were demonstrated. In the first, poly(ethylene glycol) was used to protect the SU-8 from interactions with proteins, yielding a surface resistant to biofouling. In the second demonstration, the SU-8 surface was micropatterned with a cell-resistant layer to guide cellular attachment and growth. In the final application, SU-8 micropallets were encoded with polymer lines.

Its reaction rate constant with the OH radical is, on a weight basis, significantly less than that of ethane. However, the overall smog formation chemistry of 1-BP appears to be very unusual compared with typical volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and relatively complex because of the presence of bromine. In smog chamber experiments, 1-BP initially shows a faster ozone build-up than what would be expected from ethane, but the secondary products containing bromine tend to destroy ozone such that 1-BP can have a net overall negative reactivity. Alternative sets of reactions are offered to explain this unusual behavior. Follow-up studies are suggested to resolve the chemistry.

Using one set of bromine-related reactions in a photochemical grid model shows that 1-BP would be less reactive toward peak ozone formation than ethane with a trend toward even lower ozone impacts in the future.Double Negative Differential Resistance Device Based on Hafnium Recently, combinations of 2D van der Waals (2D vdW) materials and organic materials have attracted attention because they facilitate the formation of various heterojunctions with excellent interface quality owing to the absence of dangling bonds on their surface. In this work, a double negative differential resistance (D-NDR) characteristic of a hybrid 2D vdW/organic tunneling device consisting of a hafnium disulfide/pentacene heterojunction and a 3D pentacene resistor is reported. This D-NDR phenomenon is achieved by precisely controlling an NDR peak voltage with the pentacene resistor and then integrating two distinct NDR devices in parallel. Then, the operation of a controllable-gain amplifier configured with the D-NDR device and an n-channel transistor is demonstrated using the Cadence Spectre simulation platform.
