Lamborghini Enters the World of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs)
After a number of social media posts hinting at it, Italian supercar-maker Lamborghini has finally revealed its first NFT (non-fungible token) project. Space Key, developed in collaboration with a non-publicized artist, and based on cutting-edge carbon fiber composite materials that were shipped to the International Space Station as research material, is a new project that has been announced by Lamborghini.
The product was developed in collaboration with NFT PRO(tm).
Lamborghini, the Italian car manufacturer is making its first step into non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The latest project, dubbed the Space Key, is a work that was created in collaboration with an unknown artist. The NFT is a unique piece of digital art that is obtained by scanning a QR code. The project is limited and will be auctioned off within the coming weeks.
The Space Key is made from a carbon fiber composite material that Lamborghini smuggled to the International Space Station in 2019 as part of an investigation project. The carbon fiber was transformed into a unique art work when it returned to Earth. The physical object is equipped with an NFT serial code that ties to the digital art work via a QR code on the rear.
NFTs, for those who aren't familiar, are unique identifiers that are stored on a distributed ledger of the blockchain and connected to a digital asset, such as a photo or video, song, or other record. This allows owners to guarantee authenticity and scarcity as well as trackability of tokens via the internet.
Lamborghini is taking this unique approach to art a step further by working with NFT PRO, white label NFT solution for business. In the coming weeks, the company will be sharing details about this exciting project including the name of the unidentified artist as well as a timeline for the auction.
The physical element of Space Key
After numerous social media posts teasing some kind of space-themed item, the Italian supercar manufacturer Lamborghini launched its non-fungible (NFT) tokens with an exclusive initiative dubbed Space Key. The NFT was created in collaboration with a mysterious artist and will be auctioned off in a few short weeks. It is a piece made of carbon fiber composite material that was shipped to the International Space Station (ISS) in 2019 as part a research project. Carbon fiber was 3D printed to form the base of each Space Key. Each Space Key is linked to an exclusive, digital image via an QR code. Five Space Keys have been produced.
NFTs are unique identifications that can be recorded in distributed ledgers like the Blockchain and linked to digital assets such as images. They're all the rage for those with more money than sense and it was only a matter of time before an automaker decided to cash in on the trend.
Space Key is made up of five units. lamborghini keys for sale The Key Lab was developed by using a carbon fiber composite that was sent to the ISS in the year 2019. Each NFT is linked to an exclusive digital artwork by the same artist by using a QR code printed on the back of the carbon fiber element. More details will be revealed in the coming weeks and days, including the name of the artist as well as the digital artwork, and the method of purchasing one of the five Space Keys.
The digital artwork
After weeks of social media posts hinting at it, the luxury car maker Lamborghini finally revealed its first project involving non-fungible tokens (NFT). It's dubbed the Space Key, it consists of five items that unlock a unique digital artwork created by a yet-to-be-identified artist. Developed in collaboration with NFT PRO(tm) the 'collector's piece' is limited to five units and will soon be auctioned off.
Each Space Key contains a block made of advanced carbon-fire composite material. It was sent to the International Space Station as part of a research project in 2019. After returning to Earth the Space Key was made into a QR code, which connects it to the digital component of the Space Key.
Each of the five Space Keys features a different moment that occurs at different times when the Lamborghini Ultimae takes off towards the stars. Each of the five images was filmed by photographer Fabian Oefner and contains over 600 million pixels.
Oefner used a balloon with a camera that captured each of the individual shots which were then merged into the final image. The result is an out of this world photograph that captures both the beauty of the Earth as well as the futuristic, hyper-realistic view of the car erupting from it. The Space Keys are going to be auctioned soon, but there is no exact date or location as of yet.
The auction
Lamborghini, the luxury automaker, has entered the world non-fungible tokens (NFTs) with the slogan "to the moon". The project was developed in collaboration with NFTPRO(tm). The auctions, which take place between February 1 until February 4, last for 75 hours and 50 minutes - the same time it took Apollo 11 to leave Earth and enter lunar orbit. The five NFTs can be bid on by registering online. Each NFT will be offered separately and the winner will receive an original digital artwork created by world-renowned photographer Fabian Oefner that captures five different moments that the Space Key experienced during its space voyage.
