Counter Strike New Revealed
After weeks of rumors Valve has finally announced Counter Strike new. It's a major update to CS:GO that will put it on the Source 2 engine.
It also brings sub-tick server update and smoke grenades that respond to. It's got plenty of gamers who are a bit naive but it looks like an enormous upgrade for the regular player.
Smokes
Counter Strike New is getting an overhaul that will completely alter the way smokes are used in the game. The changes are being described as responsive smokes and will be a significant game changer. Smokes will expand to fill in spaces and move around objects on the map. They will also react to the lighting in the games, making them look more real. In addition to these new features, smokes will be capable of interfacing with gameplay events, which will open up new tactical possibilities. For instance, bullets can cause smoke to temporarily clear sightlines and explosions from hex grenades will disperse smoke occlusion.
The most significant change in smokes is that they will be a more dynamic element of the game. Smokes in earlier versions were a fixed-shaped object with a limited range of movement and vision blocking. The new smokes will occupy the space they are located and hinder a player's vision when they are in place. This is a significant improvement that will increase the speed of play and will give both teams the same view.
Smokes can react to the light, weapons, and surroundings in the world space. counter-strike cases clash makes the smoke appear more realistic and allow players to utilize it in various ways to gain an advantage over their opponents. This will be especially useful in the chaotic games that are expected to occur on every map.
Smokes will no longer be one-way which was a major issue in CSGO and allowed players to view their opponents' positions from behind the smoke. Twistzz is a well-known CS:GO pro, says that the new system is a major improvement for competitive CS2 and makes it fairer for both teams.
Other minor changes include adjusting smoke particles vertically to decrease the visible edges, and updating the spectator's smoke overlays to ensure that they match their camera's location. The expiration of smokes was adjusted to match the visuals displayed on screen.
Loadouts
The CS:GO players are now able to alter their weapon selection prior the start of each match. The new loadout system lets players to select weapons that suit their playstyles and team strategies. The new system also adds new tactical depth to the game since players must be able to balance firepower and utility.
In addition to the brand new loadouts In addition to the new loadouts CS: GO update includes several other improvements and changes. The buy menu was completely revamped. The old buy wheel has been replaced by a customizable grid that shows all purchase options simultaneously. The grid has been populated with five pistols and five "mid-tier" weapons such as submachine guns and shotguns as well as five rifles and carbines.
The new system is simple to use and gives players greater control over their weapon choices. It will let them choose the weapons that best fit their style of play, team tactics and experiment with various combinations. It also allows them to test out their abilities against other players' loadouts and find out how they stack up.
Many players have praised the added flexibility while others have criticised it for deviating away from the essence of Counter-Strike. They also have raised concerns about how it could impact map-specific loadouts and skins of agents that are based on visibility.
In spite of these criticisms the new loadout method will be tested in greater detail in the coming months. Certain of these issues may be addressed in future updates. It is important to keep up-to-date for more details.
In addition to the brand new CS: GO features, the latest update also includes Workshop Tools, which can be enabled in the game's settings menu and allow community contributors to design weapons' finishes, stickers and maps. The update will also live ban players who break the VAC rules in matches.
The latest CS GO update is scheduled to be released in the middle of summer. For now, players can browse the complete list of features and updates by visiting the official CS: GO website.
Sub-Tick Updates
The world of Counter-Strike is updated by the server in discrete time increments called ticks. The smallest gap between a tick and a mouse click of a player could influence a shot's accuracy, so Valve is working hard to make sure that CS: GO is fluid and responsive. A new video highlights one of the game's biggest under-the-hood enhancements, also known as sub-tick updates.
Instead of a 64-tick-update each millisecond CS:GO can now use sub-ticks or, as Valve calls it, "micro ticks", to communicate with the servers. Each of these tiny intervals of time will be recorded by the client, and then transmitted to the server, which will return the updated game state back to players. The servers will be able to tell when you fired a shot or jumped or peeked.
Although a minute-long video may not enough to fully explain everything, the video explains that every piece of information sent by the client is accompanied by a time stamp, and that the server will gather all data from all players in chronological order prior to sending it back. According to the video it is believed that a CS: GO server will now be able to send more than twice the data as a 64-tick servers.
This means that even if the tick rate of the game increased to 128 Hz it will still be able to handle your commands immediately. It's not solely about increasing the tick rate, either; micro-tick updates also reduce latency and input lag by ensuring that the server responds to your actions with no delays or glitches.
Obviously, this is only the start of the technical improvements Valve is making to the game. The company uses particles and dynamic smoke to improve the way smoke interacts with its environment. It's upgrading all maps with high-resolution lighting, textures, and models. Source 2 tools and features will be used to upgrade all CS cosmetics and weapons.
Maps
The new update coming to Counter Strike New will bring new maps to the game as well as some classics that are getting facelifts. These updates are currently being tested as part of a limited test beta. The first set of maps includes upgrade and touchstone maps that will not see major changes to gameplay, whereas others have been completely rebuilt or overhauled with the new Source 2 tools.
Among these, Overpass was redesigned to take advantage of the new engine's unison lighting system. The underpass of the map is now flooded with daylight which makes the area more spacious and less congested. In addition smoke grenades now expand dynamically to fill in spaces and interact with the new light.
Another map that's been overhauled is Italy and has undergone major changes to texture, lighting and structure. The new version is more balanced than its predecessor which was heavily CT-oriented. In the near future fans can anticipate seeing classics like Aztec and Militia updated.
Although many of these maps are available in other modes, they're no longer added to the map pool for competitive play. The only exception is Train, which has been pulled out of Active Duty and will continue to be played in tournaments. Valve hasn't yet confirmed whether the other maps that were removed will be added back to the pool.
One of the most controversial updates is one that was created by Helsingin Sanomat, Finland's national newspaper. The newspaper has been active in its criticism of Russia's actions against Ukraine. The map is based on the war-ravaged Donetsk. The map is dubbed de_voyna and contains numerous references to the conflict.
The developer will release a collection of Source 2 Tools for map makers in the near future. This will include features such as improved lighting and character reading, as well physically-based rendering that produces realistic textures and materials. It will also make real-world objects, like doors and windows, more simple to create. The update will be released sometime in the summer.
