Counter Strike New Revealed
After weeks of rumors Valve has finally announced Counter Strike new. It's a major update for CS:GO which will put it on the Source 2 engine.
It also comes with responsive smoke grenades as well as sub-tick updates for servers. It's made a lot armchair gamers crazy however, it appears to be an upgrade for the average player.
Smokes
Counter Strike New is getting an update that will completely change the method of using smokes in the game. These changes, dubbed responsive smokes, will be a game changer. Smokes will expand to fill in spaces and move around objects on the map. They will also react with the lighting of the games, making them appear more realistic. In addition to these new features, smokes are now be able to interact with game events that will provide new tactical possibilities. Bullets, for instance, will push smoke in order to temporarily clear the sightlines. Hex grenade blasts can also disperse smoke and occlusion.
The most significant change in smokes is that they will become a more active part of the game. Smokes in previous versions were a fixed-shaped object that had a restricted range of movement and vision blocking. But, the new smokes will now grow to take up the space they're within and take up more of the player's view when they are within it. This is a major change that will make the game more dynamic and give both sides the same view.
In addition smokes are now able to react to the environment, weaponry, and lighting in the world space. This makes the smoke appear more realistic and allow players to use it in a variety of ways to gain an advantage over their opponents. This is especially beneficial in the chaotic 5v5 games that are likely to occur on every map.
Smokes are no longer one-way. This was a major problem in CSGO as it allowed players to see the position of their opponent from behind the smoke. Twistzz is a renowned CS:GO professional who says the new system will make CS2 more fair for both teams.
Other minor improvements include adjusting the position of smoke particles to prevent the possibility of seeing through edges, and also changing the smoke overlay visuals to match their camera position. Also, the expiration of smokes was updated to be more in accordance with the visuals of how they fade on the screen.
Loadouts
CS:GO players are now able to alter their weapon selection prior the start of each match. The new loadout system allows the players to choose weapons that suit their playstyles and team's strategy. The updated system also adds new tactical depth to the game, as players must balance firepower and utility.
The CS: GO Update includes a number other enhancements and changes in addition to the new loadouts. The most important is that the buy menu has been completely overhauled. The old buy wheel was replaced by a grid that can be customized to show all options for purchase at once. The grid is populated with five pistols, five "mid-tier" weapons like shotguns and submachine guns, and five rifles and carbines.
case opening is easy to use and will give players more control over their weapon selection. It will allow them to select the weapons that best fit their style of play, team strategy and play around with various combinations. They can also compare their gear with other players and observe how well they stack up.
While many players appreciate the flexibility it offers, some have criticized it for deviating from the essence of Counter-Strike. They also have raised concerns about how it will impact map-specific loadouts and skins of agents based on visibility.
Despite these criticisms the new loadout system will be tested more thoroughly in the coming months. It is possible that some of these issues will be addressed in future updates, so it is important to stay tuned for more details.
In addition to the new CS: GO features, the new update also includes Workshop Tools, which can be enabled through the game's settings menu. They allow community contributors to create weapon finishes, stickers, and maps. Additionally, the update will now live ban players who violate the VAC rules during matches.
The new CS GO update is scheduled to be released later in the summer. For now, players can check out the full list of features and updates by visiting the official CS: GO website.
Sub-Tick Updates
The world of Counter-Strike is updated by the server in discrete intervals of time called ticks. The tiniest delay between a tick and the mouse click of a player can influence the accuracy of a shot, so Valve is doing its best to ensure that CS: GO feels fluid and responsive. A new video reveals one of the game's biggest under-the-hood improvements, known as sub-tick updates.
Instead of a 64-tick-update each millisecond, CS:GO now uses sub-ticks, or as Valve calls it, "micro ticks", to communicate with servers. Each of these tiny increments of time will be recorded by the client and transmitted to the server, which will then return the updated game state back to players. The servers will know exactly the moment you fired a shot or jumped, or swung, or pounced.
The video does not go over everything. However it does state that each piece of data sent by the client has a timestamp and that the server collects all the information in chronological order from all players prior to sending it back. According to the video a CS: GO will be able send twice as much information as a 64-tick CS: GO.
That means that if the game's tick rate goes up to 128 Hz, it will still be able to handle your commands instantly and consistently. And it's not only about increasing the tick rate either; the micro-tick updates will also reduce input lag and latency by ensuring that the server will respond to your actions with no delays or glitches.
Valve's technical enhancements to the game are only the beginning. Valve uses particles and smoke that are dynamic to improve how smoke interacts with its environment. It's upgrading all maps with high-resolution lighting, textures, and models. All CS: GO cosmetics and weapons will get a facelift with Source 2 tools and features.
Maps
The coming update for Counter Strike New will bring new maps to the game alongside a few classics which are getting facelifts. The updates are currently being tested in a limited-test beta. The first set of maps include touchstone and upgrade maps that will not see major changes to gameplay, while others have been completely renovated or redesigned using the new Source 2 tools.
Overpass is one of these maps that was modified to benefit from the new engine's unified light system. The underpass of the map is now flooded with light which makes the area more spacious and less congested. Additionally smoke grenades now expand dynamically to fill spaces and interact with the new light.
Italy is a second map that has been reworked. Its lighting, texture, and structure have been greatly improved. The new version is also more balanced than the predecessor that was heavily CT-oriented. In the future fans can expect to see classics like Aztec and Militia updated.
These maps will not be added to the map pool for competitive play, even though they are still playable. The only exception is Train which was pulled out of Active Duty and will continue to be played in tournaments. Valve hasn't yet confirmed whether the other maps that were removed from the pool will be reintroduced.
Helsingin Sanomat is the national newspaper of Finland. The newspaper's latest update has been criticized as controversial. The newspaper has been open in its criticism of Russia's actions towards Ukraine. This map is based off of the conflict-ravaged Donetsk. The map is dubbed de_voyna and includes a number references to the conflict.
The developer will release a set Source 2 Tools for map makers in the near future. This will include features like improved lighting and character reading, as well a physically-based rendering system which creates realistic materials and textures. It will also make real-world objects like doors and windows, more simple to create. The update is expected to release sometime this summer.
