Cheap Single Pushchairs
If you're on a tight budget and don't need a stroller that can double as car seat carriers the Babyzen Yoyo is a good choice. It has a flip-flop friendly one-step footbrake.
It's simple to push, and it feels solid when you are walking along woodland paths and kerbs. It's also a breeze to fold.
1. Babyzen YOYO2
The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned its reputation for being the ultimate stroller that is lightweight, suitable for city dwellers as as jet-setters. This is thanks to its nimble maneuverability and fold-down design that can be incorporated into the overhead baggage of an aircraft. The most recent version comes with independent suspension on all 4 wheels comprised of Hytrel elastomer. This allows it to perfectly navigate all terrains and types'.
The frame's base YOYO2 frame along with the curved fabric bassinet and the 6+ month color pack create a stylish pushchair that's easy to look at, with a subtle but elegant aesthetic and tasteful branding. The frame's weight is less than a kilogram, and is so light that it is able to be lifted from the box with one hand.
The hood, for example snaps onto the YOYO2 in a calm manner. It is also machine washable at 30 degrees which helps prevent the stains that result from smushed carrot puffs and rice cakes. The Newborn Pack and bassinet can be used from birth as a pram. It can also be converted to a stroller by 6 months by using the YOYO connect other chassis.
2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore
The Evenflo Pivot Xplore is a fantastic choice for parents looking for a versatile stroller wagon. The Evenflo Pivot can be converted from a stroller into a wagon by simply flipping the handle. Parents can then select which mode is best for their journey. The wagon can hold one or two children from 6 months up to 5 years, and it comes with a large storage basket that can accommodate everything you require on the go.
The Xplore comes with two canopy options that rotate from front-to-back, providing adequate sun protection for the entire family. It also has a footwell, which is not as deep or large as other wagons, which means it may not be ideal for longer excursions or for napping.
The frame of the Xplore wagon feels solid and sturdy, but it does not flex as much as some other wagons we tried. It is also more difficult than other wagons to fold, and it isn't able to lock securely once folded. It is easy to maneuver however, and it can fit through narrow 28-inch doors.
3. Delta Children LX Side-by-Side
This basic double stroller from Delta Children is an excellent option for parents seeking a budget-friendly secondary travel stroller. It was awarded an impressive score in our Strollers & Multiples test for weight and fold size that means it's lightweight, small when collapsed and easy to move into a car trunk or closet. It also offers the option of reclining in multiple positions and a cup holder for the parent. Other key features include 360-degree shock absorbing front wheels as well as two large hanging storage bags.
It did better in our push and turn test than a lot of the strollers we tested but is still difficult to maneuver over uneven terrain or through narrow doors. Its sunshades are among the smallest we tested, offering only a direct overhead coverage and no peekaboo windows. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 has a much larger canopy.
The Delta took us just under 3 minutes to put together with an average manual and all of the components required tools. However, it is missing certain essential features we believe you should not compromise on in a double stroller, like a large basket and reclining seats with adjustable leg rests.
4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1
The Zelia is Maxi-Cosi’s newest pushchair that is advertised as a travel system for urban use. It is designed to accommodate infants from birth until approximately 3.5 years old, easily changing into a seat and carrycot in just only a few clicks. It can also be used with Maxi Cosi capsule car seats and comes with the lightweight Mico 30 infant car seat, a stay-incar base, and a reversible car.
It is really easy to maneuver and the one-hand recline of the seat and the huge shopping basket make it easy for parent-tots to get the child in and out of the seat quickly. Despite being a small pushchair, it was able to handle the bumps of everyday life well and slid through doors without any fuss.
The front wheels can to be locked in a forward position and can also swivel. This is helpful when navigating rough terrain. When we walked along the stony path we allowed them to swivel and it performed well, though it did appear slightly bumpier than other models on test.
5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2
Baby Jogger is most famous for its three-wheeled, all-terrain strollers for jogging. But they also produce a wide range of 4-wheeler pushchairs. City Tour 2 is their most well-known model. It is easy to use and folds small enough to fit in a car boot even with the carrycot attached.
It weighs more than other strollers we test, but since it comes with rubber composite wheels it feels sturdy and well-made. It's a breeze to maneuver across all types of terrain. It's easy to move, even when loaded with two kids and shopping bags.
The carrycot and the seat both have hoods with pull-down sun canopy extensions that are UV50+. They are showerproof and sturdy, unlike some other prams' hoods that get whipped back into toddlers' faces.
It's not a lot of storage space, but it comes with a large basket deep enough to accommodate a changing bag or plenty of food. It can also be linked with a Baby Jogger infant car seat to create a traveling system for babies as big as 20 lb (car seat and adapters are sold separately). If you are looking for a stroller that can be used on the road, then the City Tour 2 is an excellent option.
6. Nuna Mixx Next
Nuna Mixx was a stroller that captured the hearts of a large number of parents when it first debuted. It is an aluminium-framed stroller which can be used from baby's first days to beyond. It comes with a variety of notable features, including the ability to flip the seat between parent and the world, a large UPF 50+ canopy, an eye-shade that flips out, a spacious basket and adjustable handlebar.
The wheels are strong and foam-filled which minimises punctures. The chassis is equipped with built-in suspension that eases the pain of rough terrain. Our test driver found it easy to push and was able to maneuver it through narrow streets with ease.
It locks automatically and folds in just four steps. It also stands and can be carried by trolley for easier transport in the car's boot or down the stairs at home. It also comes with a travel system equipped with the option to add a car seat or carrycot using the included adaptors. The brakes are a single action and are colour coded. They also can be used with flip-flops.
7. Babyzen Duet
This budget-friendly pushchair is simple to use and comes with a great dual suspension. It can be folded by one hand and comes with a handy carrying strap. It's also super lightweight and robust. The seat is reclined in various positions. It also has a built-in double-breathable mattress that can be used for babies from birth.
The canopy/seat has two large sun visors, which can be either fixed or flipped out. Both are UPF50+. The toggle closure isn’t ideal because it's not as quiet as Velcro, and can cause sleepy babies to wake up.
The Duet is a stroller with an angled design that can be used by twins or siblings. (Up to pushchairsandprams per seat). It is compatible with two infant car seat and some carrycots. In twin mode seats, the seats can be positioned so that they face each one. They can also be positioned to face the parents. This can help to reduce sibling arguments over who sits with dad and mom. It comes with a big tray for gears as well as a bottle holder and snack tray. It also comes with an automatic frame lock and a superior compact fold.
8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2.
The Thule Urban glide 2 is a great jogger for parents that like to be active. It's among the lightest running strollers you can get for your child and offers excellent safety features such as five-point harnesses and a secure wrist strap. It comes with a different kind of hand brake than other models that is an interesting twist.
The seat is comfortable and offers a large area to sit in, however the depth of the seat is less than other joggers that we've tested (it's about 10"). The storage bin is secured with a zipper that keeps things safe. It can hold up to 10 pounds that is enough for the majority of diaper bags.
The Urban Glide 2 isn't compatible with infant car seats or bassinets in the way it is, however you can use it right from the start by purchasing adapters to most seats from brands such as BOB, Graco, Combi, Evenflo, Britax, and UPPAbaby. It's simple to fold and assemble in just 5-10 minutes with no tools. The user manual is easy to read and includes multiple languages.
