Why Lamborghini Huracan Car Key Still Matters In 2023
The Lamborghini Sian FKP 37 is a Supercapacitor Hybrid

The Sian FKP 37, by Lamborghini's standards it's a wild car. It's also one of the first production hybrids to use the supercapacitor.

A 34-hp e-motor built in the manual automatic transmission powers the Sian for speeds up to 80 mph, when the V-12 is in charge. This system allows the car to accelerate quickly and is more efficient.

Forged Composites

The hybrid system from Sian has another trick up its sleeve - a supercapacitor battery. It's capable of recharging more quickly than lithium-ion batteries, and the car can run for up to 63 seconds using just electric power.

Lamborghini's forging composites will be the crucial element to this. The material may eventually make its way into production cars. It is a sheet of uncured plastic, and then mixed with random lengths of carbon fiber strands. It is not as beautiful as pre-woven carbon fiber sheets that have been pre-impregnated but it's lighter and more rigid.

Operators cut the carbon fiber into the desired shape, then place it in an oven-heated press mould and squeeze it with heat. It takes only a few minutes to make, whereas it could take hours to make the same thing using traditional methods.

Lamborghini claims that its manufacturing-friendly materials could result in more affordable products in future. The cost of materials and labor is a bit high however if you are able to increase the production process it can save money. Forged composites are also more flexible than carbon fiber weave and engineers can design complicated shapes without adding weight or cost.

Carbon Skin

The Lamborghini Sian is a sleek roadster with a futuristic style that maximizes aerodynamic efficiency. The long, sculpted contours and distinctive aero wings make a powerful profile, while its low front and integrated carbon fiber splitter enhance stability. The Y-shaped headlights and hexagonal shapes are classic Lamborghini features that further highlight the vehicle's distinct styling. The interior is a mix of luxurious Italian craftsmanship and state-of-the-art technology. The dashboard and the driver's chair are covered in a unique material known as Carbon Skin, which is customizable through the Ad Personam program.

The hybrid system from Sian is powered by supercapacitors, which combine the power and efficiency of an electric motor along with a lithium battery that is 48-volts. Its rapid-fire torque fills in gaps in acceleration, while its regenerative braking system recharges the battery. lamborghini countach key allows the Sian to travel further with just one tank of gas.

Compared to a conventional lithium-ion battery, the Sian's supercapacitor is three times more powerful and can be charged in just 63 seconds. It is also smaller and lighter. The supercapacitor is stored in the bulkhead between engine compartment and the cabin, powering a 34-hp electric motor mounted to the rear of the vehicle's automatic transmission.

The Lamborghini Sian was based on Aventador SVJ. This means that it uses the identical V12 engine. It also has the same suspension and chassis and the same four-wheel-drive. The hybrid powertrain that Sian uses is what makes it stand out.

Ad Personam

The Sian is Lamborghini's debut hybrid vehicle and it's a bold statement of intent. The raging bull's latest creation uses supercapacitor technology in order to bring the power-to-weight ratio closer to a more manageable level without compromising its impressively powerful V-12 engine.

For the most loyal customers of Lamborghini, it offers the opportunity to completely personalize the car through the Ad Personam program. The Ad Personam program permits customers to customize the vehicle to meet their exact specifications.

A complete specification sheet is available on the internet. You can also arrange a meeting at the Sant'Agata Bolognese headquarters, or via a virtual studio. The latter was designed to allow customers all over the world to get an individual spec session with the team without having to travel all way to Sant'Agata.

The name Sian is an Bolognese word meaning lightning. It's a homage to the brand's past and future. The alphanumeric suffix FKP 37 is in honor of Ferdinand Karl Piech, the man who brought Lamborghini into the Volkswagen Group family and died shortly before the introduction of the Sian. Only 63 examples were built and all are accounted for.

Specs

The Sian is a model based on the Aventador SVJ. It has the same V12, chassis and suspension. It also features a smaller electric motor to make it an hybrid. It can run on electric power only at lower speeds, and utilize gasoline engines for acceleration when required.

The supercapacitor can be found in the bulkhead that separates the cabin from the engine compartment. It is three times more powerful and lighter than a battery of the same weight. The system recharges itself on the move through regenerative braking and doesn't need to be connected to the grid. The e-motor is able to fill up torque for upshifts, which enables the car to accelerate 10 percent more quickly than it would without it.

Lamborghini claims that the design of its hybrid Sian is intended to convey an open-top feeling of pure energy. The exterior is a mix of orange paint and carbon fibre as well as the roof, which has an elongated glass section that was inspired by the Periscopio found on early Countach protoypes. Other highlights include aluminum details painted in Oro Electrum, which is the color that Lamborghini uses to distinguish its hybrid cars.

Inside the interior, the Sian has a cockpit that was designed by Lamborghini's head designer, Mitja Borkert. It's more wild than typical for Lamborghini, with lots of cutouts and creases. It's a car nearly comical in appearance however, it's still very attractive. The infotainment screen is oriented vertically and features a buttonless steering that has huge paddle shifters.
