The Petron Key To Lamborghini Awards: The Best, Worst, And The Most Unlikely Things We've Seen
Lamborghini Enters the World of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs)

After a string of social media posts that hinted at it, Italian supercar maker Lamborghini finally announced its NFT (non fungible token) Project. Space Key is a project that was created in collaboration with a non-disclosed artist and based upon advanced carbon fiber composite materials that were sent to the International Space Station as research material, is a new project that has been announced by Lamborghini.

Developed in collaboration NFT PRO(tm).

Lamborghini, the Italian supercar maker is making its first step into the world non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The new project - called the Space Key - is a work of art that was made by a collaboration with a lone artist. The NFT is a unique piece of digital art that can be accessed through an QR code. The project is limited and will be auctioned off within the next few weeks.

The Space Key is made of a carbon composite material that Lamborghini, as part of a research project in 2019 was sent to the International Space Station. After it returned to Earth the carbon fiber was transformed into this unique art. The physical component has an NFT serial number that is linked to the digital artwork through a QR code on the rear.

For those who don't know, NFTs are unique identifiers recorded on a distributed blockchain ledger that is linked to a digital asset, such as a video, image or other type of record. This allows owners to ensure authenticity and scarcity as well as trackability of tokens through the internet.

Working with NFT PRO which is a white-label NFT solution for businesses, Lamborghini has taken this unique approach to art to the next level. In the coming months, Lamborghini will announce details about the exciting project. This will include the names of the artists that are not known and a timeline for auction.

The physical element of the Space Key

In the wake of numerous social media posts teasing some kind of space-themed item, Italian supercar maker Lamborghini has entered the world of tokens that aren't fungible (NFT) with a unique project called Space Key. The project was created in collaboration with an unidentified artist The NFT is a collectible item that will be auctioned off within a few weeks time. It is a piece of high-tech carbon fiber composite material, which was sent to the International Space Station (ISS) in 2019 as part an ongoing research project. The carbon fiber was 3D printed to form the base of each Space Key, which is connected to an exclusive, entirely digital design using the QR code that is on the back of the key. Five Space Keys have been produced.

NFTs are unique identification numbers that can be recorded on distributed ledgers such the Blockchain and linked to digital assets such as pictures. It's a hot topic among people who have more money than common sense. It was only a question of time before automakers decided to take advantage of.

Space Key consists of five units. They were constructed using a real piece of the carbon fiber composite, which was sent to the ISS in 2019. Each NFT will be linked with an exclusive digital artwork by the same artist by using a QR code printed on the back of the carbon fiber piece. In the coming weeks and days, more information will be revealed including the name and digital artwork of the artist and how to purchase one of the five Space Keys.

The digital artwork

After months of posts on social media that hint at it, a prestigious car manufacturer Lamborghini has finally revealed its first non-fungible token (NFT) project. It's called the Space Key, it consists of five physical items that unlock a unique digital artwork NFT created by an unidentified artist. Developed in collaboration with NFT PRO(tm) the 'collector's piece' is limited to five units and will be auctioned off shortly.

At the heart of each Space Key is a block of advanced carbon fire composite material that was sent to the International Space Station in 2019 as part of a research program. After returning to Earth, the block was engraved with QR codes that link to the digital element of the Space Key.

Each of the five Space Keys will feature a distinct moment that occurs only seconds apart as the Lamborghini Ultimae lifts off toward the stars. Each of five images was shot by photographer Fabian Oefner and contains over 600 million pixels.

Oefner used an inflatable camera that had lenses to capture the individual images, which were then assembled into the final photograph. The result is an out-of-this world photo that captures the beauty of Earth as well as the futuristic, hyper-realistic image of the car erupting from it. The Space Keys are going to be auctioned off soon, but there's no precise date or time yet.
