Why do you want to be an RA?
- 1. the social aspect: being able to to be an encouraging friend and leader will make me strive to be the best RA i could be.
2. professional aspect: grow as a leader and develop new strengths and skills to help me advance as a finance major
3. Financially: Great opportunity to take out less loans so i can be relieved of some stress down the road.
4. Work in a college setting. Work with people around my same age and who are in the same boat as i am. No car to go off campus.

What can you offer to the residents here.
- Respect, acknowledgement, empathy, and leadership
- We all want to feel respected. I feel that as an RA, its your duty to give respect to your residents. You aren't their mother or father. You are there to give them the most enjoyable college experience you can while adhering to the laws and rules of the university. I understand that there will be some people that wont like me or our personalities don't mesh well. I feel that is it important as a leader and a staff member of the university to not allow any actions that we may feel as disrespectful allow us to treat that person any differently.
- I think that everyone wants to have a sense of belonging. There is a good chance that as an RA, you will find a first year student or new transfer student that may not friends here or anyone that they connect with yet. By just knowing all of your resident's names and showing a bright and excited attitude can make someone's day. Even having one person who really needed it at an event of yours is a successful program in my eyes.
- Everyone comes from different places, different backgrounds. Someone might have someone in their family pay their way through college as long as they keep all A's. Someone else may be taking out loan after loan and they'll keep doing that until they graduate. Everyone has a different story and I think that it's important to respect those backgrounds and also be able to empathize with those people.
- Residents here, especially new students, are looking for someone to look out for them, to be a resource for them. Be someone that can be there for them in their time of need. I am that person.

What kind of relationship would you like to have with the residents in your community? How will your relationship impact your ability to do the RA job?
- I believe that friendship is a very important part of people great teams and also great residential areas. When you watch older TV shows, you see families talk to their neighbors, have barbecues with them, hang out and have good times. They were in TV shows because people wanted to have that. Not everyone does have great relationships with neighbors now a days. I want to bring that kind of community back. Although I want to have a great community, I feel responsible for making sure that everyone follows all the universities rules and the law. Finding the balance between friendship and my responsibilities as an RA is crucial for a healthy hall.

What are your greatest strengths?
- I am positive, passionate, a team player, and a able to work under pressure. It may sound silly, but Jimmy Johns gets crazy for lunch. Very busy, and you have to be able to think and work in a very quick manor. Also, working as the Director of Finance for the Village Community Council made me further realize my passion for working with the residents here on campus.

What are your greatest weaknesses?
- The fact that I have never had a job like a Resident Assistant with so much responsibility. However, I am passionate to learn the job, and I'm a fast learner and willing to face any challenges put in my way.
