It is possible that Lionel Weintraub, who was President of Ideal until 1962, recognized that the itcbet was not profitable and had a hand in its termination. However, no one knows for sure. A major theme of ITC’s product development was “Kits that Work,” which was a natural extension of Ideal’s toy manufacturing expertise. Cam-A-Matic, Remote Control and motorization were key features of these kits. ITC’s kits often came in a painted and decorated wall display case with a cardboard backdrop explaining the working features.

Building on the outcomes of the Rio+20 Conference, a mechanism will be explored to systematically collect, collate and analyse scientific and technological knowledge on key sustainable development and green economy issues, including a framework for measuring progress.

During this process, we will seek to identify the key barriers to the uptake of the Green Economy and assess how we can overcome them. This will involve collaboration with a range of stakeholders, including businesses, governments and academia. We will also take into account the specific needs of vulnerable groups, such as women, children and those with disabilities. This will help us to ensure that we design the right policy for the Green Economy and implement it effectively.
