ITC's product line was dominated by kits with innovative 'working' features, such as Cam-A-Matic, Remote Control and motorization. This is similar to Ideal's doll and toy business strategy of introducing 'functional' features, such as moving eyes, legs or arms to show how the doll or toy worked. This was a successful model for the toy market, but ITC failed to develop a profitable strategy for its model kit business.
Attendees are booked in BET levels based on the number of class periods they attend per day. Full-time attendees are booked in academic BETs (English, math, science, clerical, accounting, Word Processing (PC1), Spreadsheets (PC2) and optional Database) for 6-8 period days each week. Attendees booked in APNE or VCGNE Programs follow specific rules and regulations which can be found in the Apprenticeship Program Manual available from ITD.
4.6.1 One-time out of policy (OOP) processing is required to book an attendee in a BET level if one or more non-academic prerequisites are not met. This requires approval from the attendee's department head and either the ITD or CR/WRTD director or a delegated Training division head.
ITC marketed its kits with the slogan, "Kits That Work." However, this was not enough to make it profitable, and ITC closed in 1962. While there are itcbetdunia why ITC ceased operations, it is likely that the company realized the model kit business was not a profitable enterprise and it decided to focus on its other businesses.
