In the beginning, before dusk and dawn, there existed Efa—tenebrous, the absence of substance or form. From Efa expanded Mudhal, a golden ember in the vast sky, painting dawn with strokes of warmth. Released from Efa's grasp was Mukam, a silvery presence in the velvet night, hung like a delicate lantern. Finally, Efa burst, releasing its final stroke of energy.

A rock named Tarai emerged: Earth. Both Mudhal and Mukam danced around Tarai. Eventually, they intersected, giving birth to Uvar. Uvar fell towards Tarai, landing on Earth, causing a giant crater that revealed three more beings: Nodi, Yiram, and Dram. Uvar's exhale creates a harmonious, breathing plant life. Each breath exhales life into leaves and stems. Yiram painted time, stitching seconds and minutes on a canvas of forever. Nodi embraces the moon, a lantern in darkness. Dram, the herald of the sun, on his shoulders, the morning's display. Each of them carries the sun and moon, day by day.

Yiram and Uvar had a child; this child is named Nera. Nera was the goddess of birth. Nera's eyes, like a constellation, sparkled with radiant beauty. In her presence, the world was adorned with hues. Endless beauty will shine forever. Nera felt hungry—her father, his love, a river—pure and unbonded. A sacrifice was made, an offering; his heart Then, Uvar's form transformed, from flesh to foliage, heart to land. A tree ascended; in heaven he rose, her father, a tree, in eternity's heartbeat.

Uvar becomes the land known as Uvaran, a city for the gods, a place of domain, where the gods dwell and sleep; forever, Uvar's glory is herding like sheep. Uvaran is a land for the gods, where Nera and her mother live; they live without her father, and she eventually gives birth to two children, all on her own. Yiram is jealous of the twins, so she locks them away in the vastness of space, where Nera cannot find them. Nera, lost of all hope, for better or worse, finds a place to cope, where she slumbers, she has a dream of their location, and she jumps to her feed and ventures on the path of dedication. Her children are called Mari and Veru.

Mari and Veru become the planets known as Mars and Venus. Nera spots in the sky; her dedication has driven her into madness. She swears to take revenge on her mother, and so she does. She embarks on a journey to Theriyatha, where she creates a trap. She returns to Uvaran and tells her mother her children have escaped; her mother rushes to Theriyatha, where she is greeted with Nera's trap: Yiram falls in an infinite drop, falling forever.

Neru has two more children, named Periya and Relnok. Periya was the goddess of the sea. Periya wept; her sorrow birthed the sea. Each droplet is a liquid narrative that is so deep. Forming oceans where mysteries would seep. So let the waves tell of Periya's pain; from her grieving heart, whispered tales of bliss. Relnok breathed; from the depths of his divine lungs, clouds emerged, formed by a deity, where clouds were endowed. One day Relnok was thinking about love, and the clouds began to take the shape of a heart. And whenever Periya cries, rain falls. Relnok formed a daughter out of the clouds, creating Niram, the goddess of rainbows. In her joy, rainbows are born from a smile. Her laughter, a melody, a joyful sound

Niram and Relnok have three children, known as Urum, Yirthal, and Iyal. These three are the main ingredients for life: they descend from Uvaran, and from Tarai, they form a being; Urum shapes; Yirthal brings life; and Iyal brings thoughts and feelings. This species is known as man. The first being was called Uyar, and to keep Uyar company, Hatral Humanities first breathed sight and thought; they breathed life and fought for their food; these beings have begun their brood.

Yirthal and Iyal have children: Thira, Ada, Perun, and Kolaru. These children represent fire and chaos, destruction, and the reason bad things happen. Yet, Utha and Magi are the reason we feel happy and good things happen. The Durairu begins with the forces of good battling the forces of evil. Fire versus ice, light versus darkness—they battle, causing destruction and chaos. But their powers are equal. Without darkness, there'd be nothing to represent light. In life, there are dark moments, yet that darkness is balanced with light. Without a touch of darkness, there'd be no twinkle in the night. Balance, also known as Dulakol.
