Doom is a film a few squad of troopers shooting up a bunch of demons. It sounds prefer it must be an especially entertaining action/horror film, particularly contemplating the reality that it stars Dwayne Johnson and Karl Urban. But unfortunately Doom is a boring and cringe-worthy waste of time that fails to ship on virtually each degree.

The Doom video games have been developed by id Software and centered on first-person shooter gameplay. They had been extremely popular and helped to pioneer the genre. It follows a squad of macho marines despatched to the planet Mars after a safety breach at a privately owned research facility. Doom was intended to be a star car for The Rock and it worked in that regard. The wrestler turned actor is entertaining sufficient and he brings his finest workmanlike dialogue to the position of Sarge, leader of the Rapid Response Tactical Team that goes to Mars. He's ably supported by Urban, who's stable in the position of Reaper. Rosamund Pike, Richard Brake and Razaaq Adoti spherical out the cast of characters on this slasher flick.

One of the principle problems with the movie is that it is means too dark. This makes it exhausting to see the motion and it takes away from the strain of the scenes. There are a couple of makes an attempt to try to scare the viewers with loud noises and darkness however these aren't effective in any respect.

Another major downside is that the script is not superb. The writers were trying to make the film more of a science fiction story than a straight up horror/action movie but they failed on this. The demons in the film aren't all that impressive and so they do not do plenty of injury either.


Doom is not as bad as some people make it out to be but it's not good both. It's a boring and disappointing film that does not do an excellent job of bringing the world of Doom to the massive display. If you have an interest in watching this movie then I counsel you await it to return out on DVD. That way you can avoid the unhealthy appearing and ridiculously dark scenes that make it tough to see anything. I give Doom 2/10..
