Cats Movie Review feel
For all of the hype and movie star names, this film is a total disaster. The visible effects are uncanny and the characters feel like plasticky toy animals. The whole film is a garish mess and it is exhausting to tell who is really having fun. There is no power to this manufacturing and the director Tom Hooper has a awful monitor report in musicals. The cast of A-listers, together with Idris Elba (who is normally so good it is a crime to see him in anything else), Francesca Hayward, Ian McKellen and Rebel Wilson, cannot make up for a narrative that is unnecessary and feels fully without soul.

The authentic stage manufacturing of Cats, primarily based on the T S Eliot poem Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats, was a heady mix of camp and acquainted music that might have made an excellent film. Unfortunately, writer-director Tom Hooper hasn't been able to transfer this to the screen and his version is a misguided and painfully unfun spectacle.

The movie can be overlong and rambling and has a completely incoherent plot that makes no sense in any respect. It's exhausting to consider that the makers of this movie actually thought this was something cinemagoers would want to watch. Unless you are a die-hard fan of the stage musical, this may be a complete waste of time and isn't entertaining in any way. I can't think about anyone who was involved on this challenge really having an excellent time making it and it feels more like an extended ego journey for the solid than a real piece of entertainment. It's an actual shame..
