Endangered tiger tracked by Thai wildlife officers dies aged 9
An endangered tiger generally identified as ‘Thanakorn’ who lived in a nationwide park in the northern province of Uthai Thani has died at age nine. The news was posted yesterday on Thailand Tiger Project’s Facebook web page.
On Tuesday night, Thailand Tiger Project obtained an digital notification saying “expiration detected” linked to an ID number belonging to Thanakorn the tiger. The team weren’t positive what the message meant and thought it would mean that the tiger’s electronic collar had come free or malfunctioned.
The next morning, the team went out to look for the tiger at Huai Kha Khaeng National Park and found that Thanakorn had passed away. The organisation did not mention Thanakorn’s explanation for demise, but as the lifespan of a tiger is eight to 10 years in the wild, perhaps Thanakorn’s life naturally got here to an end.
The team had met Thanakorn six years ago. Apparently, ผลไม้อบแห้ง was a very cussed tiger who wouldn’t let anybody go near him. The team mentioned they needed to “flirt” with the tiger for 2 years before they were able to get shut enough to connect his electronic collar.
Tracking Thanakorn with an electronic collar was mutually helpful for the tiger and the group. The team had been notified anytime the tiger left the conservation space so they may employ officers to look out for and shield him.
At the identical time, the collar provided the team with a lot of data which has helped them to understand extra concerning the animal.
“In the previous six years, we have learned lots from one another. Thanakorn has supplied us with many helpful classes to help the academic understanding of those animals which can in turn profit the species”, wrote Thailand Tiger Project.
