Single Brew Coffee Machines
This model is the best choice if you're looking for an all-in-one machine that can prepare tea or coffee according to your preferences. It's simple to use, comes with four different brewing options and can be used with single-pack or ground tea bags and coffee.
It can be used in conjunction with reusable pods. This is an excellent option for those concerned about the plastic waste generated by disposable K-cups.
1. Keurig K-Select
This Keurig is a great option for those who like coffee but don't have the space to invest in larger brewing equipment. It's the smallest Keurig on the market and measures up 13.6 inches from front to back, which means it can be tucked into a small kitchen or office space. It can brew a cup of coffee in less than minutes and comes with an water tank that can hold 52 ounces. It also has a "strong" option that boosts the strength of the coffee to suit your taste.
One downside to this machine is that it doesn't make crema, a caramel-colored foam that coffee lovers believe adds flavor and depth to their drinks. This isn't a problem to many people, however some may find it an issue. It's easy to clean, however; simply disconnect the machine from its plug and remove the pod holder. The machine can be cleaned by spraying it with a cleaning solution and wiping it clean. Paper clips can be used to clean the needles of your brewing. This is useful when your machine becomes blocked.
The machine is expensive since it only works with K-Cup pods. It doesn't accept third-party pods that were introduced to the market in 2012 after the Keurig 2.0 Patent expired. It's worth considering another model if you're looking for a device that comes in a variety of sizes and an insulated carafe.
The Keurig K-Select also has the easiest operation. It features a large button that is used to turn on the machine, and a smaller one that is used to select the desired cup size. It is a smart brewer that shuts itself off after two hours of usage to save energy and the reservoir for water has a window that shows when it needs to be refilled.
2. Cuisinart Grind & Brew
Unlike many of the other single-brew coffee makers that offer only the option to use pre-ground beans or off the shelf K-Cup pods, this one allows you to make use of both. This machine is ideal for those who are environmentally conscious, have limited space, or love both filter and single-served coffee.
This machine can grind whole beans into finely ground, ready-to-brew grounds or brew pre-ground coffee that you can store in the tray that is removable. You can also utilize Keurig's K-Cups or other popular pods for single-use. This versatility lets you make an espresso quickly or a pot of coffee, without the need to clean a carafe.
The Grind & Brew's controls are simple and easy to use. All the relevant information is displayed on the front of the machine: brewing quantity (in increments of two) and power off/on the brew indicator light, decalcification alert, and grinding settings. The machine can also brew 12 cups of carafe-style coffee and can be programmed that allows up to 24 hours of advance in brewing.
The machine comes with a removable drip tray and a capsule holder. The machine doesn't include a cleaning tool, but you can wash the drip tray and capsule holder by hand. The machine comes with a three-year guarantee and is available directly from Cuisinart, as well as Williams Sonoma, Amazon, Crate & Barrel and Target. The machine was securely packaged and surrounded by molds to protect it during shipping. The packaging is recyclable. The machine and its contents were in good condition when they arrived. The package and contents came with a user manual that was easy to read. The machine will alert you when the decalcification is due.
3. Breville Precision Brewer
The Breville Precision Brewer is an amazing machine that elevates drip coffee to the next level. It has adjustable settings that allow the user to make a perfect cup of espresso every time. There are six brewing preset modes, including "gold," "fast," "strong," "iced," and "cold brew." The brewer also comes with a single cup mode that can be used with cone and flat filters. The machine also has six different baskets that can be used for highlighting certain flavors.
The machine uses a thermocoil heating system and pump system with PID digital temperature control to ensure an accurate temperature of the water throughout the brewing process. This is a major benefit in that many premium drip coffee machines use a heated plate to heat the water. This is not the most efficient way to heat water as it can result in uneven the brewing process and also scorch your coffee. The Breville also comes with an water pump that produces a an eerie sound when it is making coffee. This is a nice feature, as it allows the user to be sure that their coffee has finished in the process of brewing.
The brewer features a sleek, minimalist design that looks amazing on any counter. The polished stainless-steel and transparent plastic construction gives it a modern and elegant appearance. Breville's brewer measures 12 x 7 x 16 inches and will fit well in a majority of medium-to-large kitchens. Breville also comes with a couple of quick start brochures and a complete instruction manual to help novice users get up and running quickly. The only issue with the brewer, is the noise of the water pump. It can be a distraction for those who live in apartment buildings.
4. Aeropress
The AeroPress is a nifty little device that can brew one cup of coffee at each time. It's a piston brewer that uses air pressure to push the water through the grounds of coffee and into the mug, giving it an unmistakable and clean taste. Many coffee lovers love Aeropress coffee for its well-rounded and balanced taste. It's a great option for campers and travelers due to its light weight compact and durable.
This manual brewer is quite simple to use. Simply add the freshly ground Cupper's coffee to the inverted AeroPress chamber, stir, then add hot water. Then, you're able to let it sit for a few minutes or plunge immediately. After you're finished your coffee, it can be served straight up or pressed in your mug for an espresso-like drink.
One of the great things about the AeroPress is that it allows you to regulate the strength of your coffee, regardless of whether you're making an ineffective French press or a powerful single-cup pour-over. The device's unique shape also speeds up the process by reducing the time that the coffee sits in the filter.
The AeroPress is an absolute newcomer to the world of brewing devices however, it's already breaking sales records, creating a vibrant community, and inspiring an entire generation of coffee lovers. There's even an international circuit of AeroPress brewing competitions! AeroPress has recently introduced AeroPress Go, a portable unit that is a combination of the AeroPress and a travel mug. This model combines the AeroPress with a travel mug, which is a great addition for campers, hikers, and globetrotters. The price is comparable to the original model, however the device is smaller and has all the same features.
5. Keurig K-Duo Plus
The K-Duo Plus has two purposes that it can use to brew single-serve cups and carafes. It makes use of ground coffee or K-Cup pods, and offers a variety of brew sizes including 6, 8, 10, and 12 ounces for a single cup, and a 6-, 8 -, 10- 12-cup carafe. single serve pod coffee maker has a strong brew button, programmable carafe auto-brew, and a thermal carafe that keeps your beverage warm for up to two hours.
This coffee machine is perfect for families who are looking to make a single cup of coffee or a whole carafe. It's user-friendly with a clear display and easy-to-use buttons. It also comes with a gold-toned, reusable filter, so you don't need to purchase paper filters. We also appreciate that this model doesn't lose temperature rapidly when brewing back-to-back pots, which is a problem with other models we've tested.
The Keurig K-Duo Plus is perfect for any occasion, whether you're hosting friends or just having a quiet morning. It can be used to make single-serves as well as a carafe. It can be used to brew your favorite ground coffee as well as hundreds of K Cup pods of cocoa, tea and coffee. It's programmable up to 24 hours in advance and has options for the kind of coffee you wish to brew, the brew strength, and a variety of drink size options from 6 to 12 ounces. This model also comes with a removable drip tray that can be used to accommodate travel mugs. The 60-oz reservoir is able to be placed in the direction of either right or left or towards the back to accommodate better counter space. This is a great choice for those who have little counter space or a bizarre kitchen arrangement.
