Ethiopian Yirgacheffe
Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, an Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee bean renowned for its refreshing flavor and delicate aroma, is among the most sought-after coffee beans. It is also a great source of antioxidants. It's best to drink it without sugar and milk in order to maintain the unique flavor profile. It is great with savory foods to balance the sweet-salty. It's a great afternoon pick-me up.
Ethiopia is often described as the birthplace of coffee. The story goes that a goat herder named Kaldi noticed his flock became more energetic after eating the red berries that grew on a plant close to his home. He tried the berries and discovered that they gave him plenty of energy. The herder then distributed the berry with his family and this was the beginning of coffee's popularity.
In the Yirgacheffe area of Sidamo, Ethiopia, coffee is typically "washed" or processed wet. This helps eliminate sour tastes and create an appealing, fresh taste. In the mid-2000s coffee prices spiked to unsustainable levels for many farmers across the globe, including Ethiopia. The Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union was able to keep farmers in business by being able to negotiate on the market and implementing fair trade initiatives. This led to the rise of a new era of single-origin Ethiopian coffees with fruit flavors that are referred to as "new naturals". Today people around the world are enjoying the distinctive floral and citrusy taste of the Yirgacheffe beans.
Geisha
Geisha is one of the most expensive coffee beans around the world. It has a subtle tea flavor, with hints of mango, peach, and raspberry. It also has a subtle taste that is similar to black tea. But does it really deserve the price tag?
The Geisha variety was first discovered in the highland region of Gesha (it was misspelled in the process) in Western Ethiopia in the 1930s by a British consul. The seeds were later transported to CATIE in Costa Rica, and finally to Panama by late Francisco Serracin, known as Don Pachi. The Peterson family experimented with it on their Hacienda Esmeralda Farm and found that it produced flavors that had balance and finesse.
Geisha is more than just a great cup of coffee. It has a significant impact on the communities that produce it. It allows farmers to reinvest profits in improving farming practices and quality processes. This results in better quality of all the coffee varieties that they grow.
However, many regular coffee drinkers are reluctant to give it a shot because of the high cost. Geisha coffee is definitely worth the cost. The Sakura season is the ideal time to drink it, so do yourself a favor and grab some!

It is recommended to drink a cup Ethiopian Harrar with a full stomach to maximize the benefits.
Ethiopian Harrar, one of the top coffees in the world is from the region's easternmost part of Ethiopia. It is cultivated near the historic walled town of Harrar which is situated at the highest altitudes. The coffee has a distinct flavor and can be enjoyed in the form of espresso or as in a latte.
The coffee is hand-sorted and harvested, and then dried in traditional cloth bags. This method preserves the aroma of the beans and enhances their flavor. It is also a more sustainable process. It can be made using any method of brewing however it is most suited to a French Press or Pour Over.
Monsooned Malabar
Monsooned Malabar, one of the world's most famous and distinctive coffees, is a rich and chocolatey coffee with an nutty, woody flavor and virtually no acidity. The name is derived from the "monsooning" process, as well as the region from which it comes the most humid region of India the mountainous region of Malabar that encompasses Karnataka and Kerala.
The legend behind this coffee is a bit mythological, but during the time of the British Raj, when large wooden vessels transported raw coffee to Europe, the cargo was often delayed due to monsoon conditions, and while it was at sea, the humidity and the wind on board caused the coffee to naturally weather, resulting in into a pale off-white shade. When they arrived in Europe the beans were found to have a distinct, highly desirable flavor taste.
Monsooning is a distinct and specialized method of processing coffee that continues to be used today in Keezhanthoor. This hamlet that is high-end located in the Western Ghats is surrounded by small, traditional tribal farmers who are committed to delivering the highest quality beans. decaf beans coffee create a full-bodied highly aromatic and smooth coffee with notes of baker's chocolate, syrupy sweetness and mild vanilla.
This coffee is great alone or blended with other fruity varieties. It also holds up to the milk well making it a great espresso or cafe creme coffee. Pour-overs, such as those in a Bialetti Moka Pot, are also very popular. Because of its lower acidity Monsooned Malabar is able to withstand heat as well.
