The cylinder should be measured from the central fixing screw hole to the end of the cylinder and the thumb turn if you have one. It is recommended to do this with the lock in place, but if this is not feasible, you can take it off and take it off to measure. These spring cassettes are specially designed to be used with sprung multipoint locks They will not work with unsprung multipoint handles and you will require a hole specifically cut in the backplate to allow them to fit (please look at the image for a technical diagram). These cassettes are a replacement to damaged or missing cassettes on the backplate of uPVC door handles. They have a square cut-out that can accommodate an 8mm spindle, and are sold as a set.
