1. Charm / Mantra / Spell
Charm spell adalah mantra untuk mengubah wujud suatu benda, membuat benda bergerak, mengendalikan seseorang, dll. Mantra ini bersifat temporer, ada juga yang bersifat permanen.
2. Transfiguration Spell
Transfigurasi adalah mengubah tampilan dari suatu objek. Bisa yang bernyawa menjadi tidak bernyawa, atau sebaliknya. Bisa juga sama, tidak bernyawa menjadi obyek yang tidak bernyawa lainnya lalu sebaliknya
Contoh mantranya adalah :
- Avifors -Draconifors -Ducklifors -Vera verto -Lapifors
3. Conjuration / Conjuring Spell
Conjuration adalah cabang dari Transfigurasi di mana suatu objek diciptakan dari udara yg kosong.
Tetapi sesungguhnya objek tersebut hanya dipindahkan lewat dimensi lain. Jadi kelihatannya objek itu hilang atau muncul.
Contoh: - Avis - Buble-producing spell - Carpe retractum -Ferula - Orchideous
4. Curse/Kutukan
Kutukan adalah jenis mantra yg menimbukan efek negatif. Kutukan ini menyebabkan kerusakan, sampai kematian korban.
Contoh : 3 kutukan tak termaafkan (Imperius,Crucius dan Avada Kedavra)
5. Jinx
Jinx adalah jenis mantra yg negatif digunakan untuk lelucon bagi perapal mantra. Iseng. Jinx juga merupakan bagian dari sihir pertahanan.
6. Hex
Hex adalah jenis mantra yang menyebabkan tingkat tertentu rasa sakit dan ketidaknyamanan. Hex dianggap sedikit ‘Hitam’ (lebih gelap dari Jinx tetapi tidak gelap seperti kutukan), meskipun mereka dapat digunakan dalam kapasitas defensif.
