The primary area is the battery assembly area which is fully automated via state-of-the-art robotics, Laser Welding ensuring precision and Charge Coupled Device (CCD) to cross-check the quality of each battery pack with its master unit prior to its installation in a 100% electric vehicle. The other core zone is designated for battery standard testing which involves over 60 processes including charge-discharge cycles, Air Leak Test, Insulation Test and Static Test. The production line can produce up to 50,000 cell-to-pack EV battery packs annually, with the quality equivalent to those produced on a global scale. Battery packs produced from this manufacturing plant are slated to be initially deployed on MG4 ELECTRIC as well as other models in the future. At present, the factory is in its preparatory production phases and is expected for official operations to commence in 2024.

Zhao Feng, CEO at the automotive group, stated, "This battery production plant is part of the masterplan underlying NEW ENERGY INDUSTRIAL PARK situated inside WHA ESIE 2 industrial zone in Thailand's Chonburi designated for local manufacture of electric vehicles. Along with รถยนต์ baht, the factory has been configured for the production of Cell-To-Pack (CTP) electric vehicle battery packs utilizing an innovative cube battery design. With the strength and growing opportunity for Thailand's EV market, SAIC MOTOR CORPORATION and HASCO-CP realize the prospects to become a manufacturing base for electric vehicles catering to domestic and international distribution, particularly across ASEAN countries."
