Suzuki Motorcycle Key Replacement

Once you have figured out the cylinder code, you are able to replace the ignition switch or at a minimum, take off the triple clamp on the top. It's a simple procedure and can be completed at home with the tools you already have in your garage. After the ignition switch has been removed you can replace it with a new ignition cylinder. Then, you can re-install the entire upper triple clamp. Be sure to select a quality lock set for your bike.
Ignition Wire Replacement
You'll need to find a solution if have lost or broken your motorcycle key, leaving a piece of it in the ignition. There are a few ways to get your key replaced with some options more expensive than other. If you are able to locate your cylinder's code, you can bring it to a locksmith, and have them cut a new key for you. This isn't possible for older motorcycles, or when the cylinder codes have been altered.
Another option is to take the ignition key to your local dealer. If you have a VIN number, they will be able to design you keys, however it will cost more. You can also try calling your local locksmith and asking if they create motorcycle keys. It is advisable to call prior to bringing your bike in as some locksmiths may not have the proper tools or have the necessary knowledge regarding motorcycle locks.
If you have a spare key you keep in a safe location, you can use this to start your motorcycle. Keep this key in a safe place to keep it safe from theft. It is also recommended to keep a spare key in case you lose your initial one or if it becomes damaged.
