The most common reason the owner of a car is unable to start their vehicle is a bent key. remote key fob repair can be repaired by simply straightening the key. It may appear simple but be careful. The key is very thin and could break if you bend it even slightly.
You'll need a sturdy work surface and a pair pliers for this. Pick up one end of the key using the pliers, and then bend it back until it is straight. It is best to do this on a flat surface or in a vice. Then, you can put it inside the lock to determine whether it will turn.

It's a good idea keep a spare key in your pocket so that you don't end up without a way into your vehicle in the event of a lost key.
If you're experiencing problems with a broken or bent key, try applying some lubrication on it before trying to insert it into the lock. This will allow it move through the cylinder and prevent it from becoming stuck. You can use a spray graphite or lubricant. If you are using a spray, ensure that you attach the plastic tubing that came with it to ensure an easier application. This will also stop moisture from damaging your device.

Most times this issue is easily fixable. Info of the time, the cable that is connected to the lever may snap or become disconnected. This is a simple fix, and a mechanic should be able to complete the task within a few minutes.
In some instances there are instances where the gear selector bushing could be damaged or worn out. Rubber covers are placed around the points of articulation of the gear system in order to make it more fluid. These rubber covers function similarly to the cartilage in your joints, which is why they must be healthy and flexible.
It is not uncommon for them to wear out over time, however there are a few things you can do to extend their life. First, you should avoid using the gear selector in extremely cold temperatures. The cables that control the gears can freeze and break. It is also recommended to replace your bushings, such as those made by First Line, with high-quality ones.

Dead battery
If you turn your key into the ignition but you don't hear anything except a click, your battery is dead. As batteries age, they undergo a natural process which causes them to die early. The negative plates of your car battery will begin to be coated with sulfate crystals.
A dead battery may also cause your vehicle to lose electrical power, which can result in the radio or electric window malfunctioning. If your car has been experiencing problems getting started in cold weather, this could be an indication that it's time for a new battery.
It's possible that the issue is not caused by a dead battery but an issue with the charging system. A mechanic's check to make sure that the alternator, serpentine belt and battery cables are all functioning properly can solve this issue.
Another type of key repair for automotive vehicles is a key fob that has stopped functioning properly. The key fob is a tiny unit that connects to the vehicle's computer and relays signals and commands between the engine and the accessory systems. The system could become confused or cease communicating with your vehicle if it is exposed to harsh temperatures or gets wet.
It is usually possible to reset a lost key fob by following the instructions provided in the owner's manual. Depending on the model of your car it may be necessary to open and close the doors, switch lights and other electronic devices on and off by pressing a specific sequence of buttons, or close and open the windows. If this does not fix your device, it could require professional programming which requires the help of technicians. It's worth trying these simple techniques before buying the new fob.
Ignition socket
Modern car keys come with a transponder chip built into them that sends a signal to a receiver inside the ignition when they are inserted. The signal informs the immobilizer in the car whether it is the right one to be used for starting. In the 1990s, car theft became a major issue. The majority of manufacturers have installed this transponder system due to security and insurance reasons.
If you have a brand newer vehicle, the only option to replace your key could be through a dealership or by calling the manufacturer directly. Before you go there make a note of the VIN number of your vehicle (vehicle identification number). This number can be found on the dashboard, the door jamb or in the owner's manual.
Bring your current working key with you to a participating AutoZone store, and an associate will use a machine to trace the contours of the key blank to accurately duplicate the original key. The new key will be cut on site using a precision cutting machine. If your key is equipped with a blade, a fob or a large grey or black head it must be programmed for your car before you can start the motor.
