Feeling dead tired, I slumped on a red plastic chair outside my training room as soon as my dance instructor called for a break. Grabbing my water bottle, I slowly gulped down the refreshing chilled water. “Ahh,” I sighed, feeling the fatigue in my body after dancing for an hour straight with my partners for the upcoming South Youth Festival competition. The competition was tomorrow. We have been practicing the same dance thrice a week hoping that the judges will appreciate our peacock dance. I have never been on stage before as I had stage fright.
As soon as we heard that there was a competition, my dancing partners and I eagerly signed up to win our school a trophy. Every day at home, I would dance in front of my enormous mirror, hoping that I would be able to get rid of my fear just in time for the competition. We had been practicing the same dance for a year, and they were all elated and jubilant while I was filled with anxiety. Our dance instructor then gave us an inspirational gift to hype us up for our competition the next day.
