Winning isn't everything. This statement is implying that although most people get upset due to not being victorious, giving the utmost effort is far more significant. Trying one's best is more important than winning because it boosts confidence and encourages doing better in everything that a person does.
By boosting confidence, trying one's hardest is salient. For example, if a person goes above and beyond to endeavor, they gradually become better at the task that is trying to be overcome. As a result of striving for success, their skill level is enhanced. While abilities start to advance, insecurity lessens; consequently, self-esteem is elevated. This shows that if a person gives their finest effort, their confidence will rise, making effort more important than victory. When one begins to feel confident, it motivates progression.
Being encouraged to ameliorate everything a person does is how trying their best is more important than winning. If a person tries their hardest to win at a particular sport, they will slowly improve. After recognizing growth in talent, they will become motivated to try their best at something different. They may study every second of every day after realizing that putting forth full effort makes them better. This indicates that because one tries their hardest, they will be abetted to excel in anything they do. Without giving their all, one may not become inspired to complete any other challenge.
By boosting confidence and encouraging to do better in all that a person does, trying one's best beats winning by a long shot. Without putting forth all effort, a person will never reach their full potential. Winning is rewarded with trophies, but effort is a reward in and of itself.
