Dead Key Fob Battery
It's a major discomfort when you press the key fob button and nothing occurs. The remote lock system in your car relies on a battery inside the key fob to send signals to the receiver inside your vehicle. When the battery is dead, it can leave you with no power. It's good news that replacing it is fairly easy and quick. Here's what you must do:
It's time to replace the battery if your device isn't responding quickly, i.e. you have repeatedly click it before it responds. You can buy a replacement battery at any auto parts retailer or big-box retailer as well as in some hardware stores. Most key fobs will work with a CR2032 battery. Check your owner's guide or the site of the manufacturer for more information.
Look for a slot or notch along the seam that separates the top and bottom halves of your key fob. You can also use a screwdriver or coin to pry the key fob apart to get at the circuit board and buttons. After you have removed the battery that was in use replace it with a brand new one that has the same + and - positioning as the old one (the plus side is typically directed towards the buttons). The fob is then reassembled, ensuring that everything snaps together. Check that all the buttons on the key fob work.
If you are still unable to get your vehicle to start after changing the battery, it could be more serious. For example, you may have accidentally deprogrammed your vehicle's onboard computer by pressing certain buttons in the wrong order. You'll need to refer to the manual for your vehicle for instructions on how to reprogram your key fob to begin your vehicle.

Another option is to try to find a nail of the correct size in between the two ends of your key. It will be a more difficult time with plastic keys. You can also try super glue to connect the two components of the key together however, this is a risky option because it could harm your ignition.
You can also purchase an extractor for keys or a tool specifically designed for. These tools have small hooks that slide into the keyway and hold the broken bit of metal. You can find these tools in hardware stores or the auto section of the big box stores. Be aware that any of these methods can actually push the damaged key further into the lock. It is better to call a locksmith instead.
Locked out
It can be more than an inconvenience to get locked out of your vehicle. It can be dangerous if there are children in the car. There are many solutions to this issue, as well as ways to avoid it happening in the first place. The best approach is to plan ahead whether that means enrolling in an automaker application, subscribing to a roadside service, or simply keeping keys in your office, home or with trusted family members and friends. You can also purchase an automobile that has excellent safety features, such as the current inventory at Longo Toyota, and make sure that it has an additional key.
Batteries could be the cause of your car keys not working. If your key fob needs multiple presses to unlock or start the car then it's time to replace the batteries. You can use the keyfob repair kit or hire a locksmith to do it.
The keys to your car could be inoperable if they're damaged. This is often a result of a rough use or aging. Over time, the grooves on keys may wear out and no longer correspond to the depth of the lock or ignition.
The keyhole in your vehicle can become clogged by dirt or impurities, causing the key to not fit. A malfunctioning lock may cause this issue. It may wear out over time or snap if you apply intense pressure when turning the key. Get a locksmith in touch instead of tinkering with the lock, as you could cause further damage.
It's not uncommon to pick the wrong set when in a rush. However, it's important to keep in mind that every key fob comes with a unique code that can only be used with a specific vehicle. If you cannot find your original keys, they might be at home or in the office. But, it's possible that someone may have stolen keys. If this is the case, you'll have to contact your local dealer or authorised service centre to get help.
