3. Ski/Walk mechanism allowing cuff locking for skiing in Ski mode and free cuff rotation for walking in Walk mode.
4. Toe and heel lugs compatible with standard AT bindings, with some models featuring inserts for bindings like Dynafit.

Designed for ski mountaineering competitors and "ski running," these boots prioritize lightweight gear. They provide moderate control and maximum cuff rotation for free ankle movement. Race boots are exclusive to insert bindings and are suitable for race and lightweight narrow touring skis.

Efficient Alpine Touring Boots:
Tailored for classic ski touring, Alpine Touring Boot strike a balance between weight and comfort. Featuring typically three buckles and a Velcro "power strap," they offer optimal performance for both ascent and descent. With a medium-volume shell for all-day comfort, these boots are versatile and ideal for tours covering both height and distance.

Free-Tour Boots:
Designed with a focus on descent, Free-Tour boots have stiffer shells, often with four buckles. The higher and stiffer cuff includes the ski/walk mechanism. Some models come with interchangeable soles for alpine or alpine touring bindings. While requiring more effort on ascents, these boots cater to stronger skiers willing to trade uphill exertion for enhanced downhill performance.
