This stylish crime drama is another abrasive and tense piece of work, with a great ensemble that includes Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan and a strong supporting turn from Oscar Isaac. Nicolas Winding Refn’s atmospheric direction adds to the mix, with neon lights and synth beats helping to create a darkly dreamlike experience.
