Mello sighs. Matt knows him far too well, unfortunately. It is comforting, in a way, to be close with someone so familiar with him.

“I’m not great at talking either, Matt, you know that. I’m just… I’m just stressed about L.”

L… L has been acting off, which is saying something, because L has always been off. It’s unsettling.

“Remember when we talked about prying about that weird Beyond guy? Well I asked L about it… and he didn’t answer my question, but he sent some really eerie texts.” Mello opens his phone to show Matt the brief conversation that he and L had a few days prior.

“I’m worried about him, if I’m being honest. That Beyond guy gives me a bad feeling…” Mello pauses to light a cigarette. “Mind if I smoke?” Matt typically doesn’t mind, but he asks anyway. “But yeah, its making me uneasy. I appreciate it, man, being with you.”

Matt drove around the block since he took Mello's sign as confirmation that he'd talk. It's weird that he basically reached this point of knowing what's what when it comes to Mello. Never did he think he'd reach that stage of friendship? with anyone cuz.... well he's always so engrossed in his games. But from the time he met Mello, probablyy should've known.

Hearing his voice again made his thoughts go away quickly and gave his full attention, like promised!!! "Yeah, I know. Just giving you those options for a reason, you never know." he stopped at that and listened to Mello's ranting, nodded when he asked a question and checked back to look at the messages he mentioned. I mean, L has always been vague, he thinks. Though, he doesn't really know him all that well unlike Mello, so he can't be too sure. "I honestly don't think you should be *too* worried about L. He's been solo, right? For most of the time I think.. so he'll be fine. But you are right about that Beyond, I personally think he's some freakazoid (giggling) considering how he acted in the gc." He shivers.

"Dude, I always smoke! Go ahead, man. Pass me one, can't exactly grab it though, so light it for me?" He asked. "If it helps at all, I could try seeing if there's anything about that guy online if that's something you still want? I heavily doubt I'll find anything, but still worth a try, right?" He glanced at Mello and tried giving a thumbs up in hopes of cheering him up. "Hey thanks, I also appreciate being with you, too!" He grinned and elbowed him. "This a confession, huh?"
