As humans, we have achieved extraordinary feats of high-speed flight and ultra-long distance travel, we as a species have achieved things that were once thought impossible and it is this exact reason why I have tailored my life goals and achievements toward the aviation industry, the end goal is to become an aerospace engineer.



To pursue this passion, I joined an engineering college where I study for a BTEC Extended Diploma in Aviation Operations, I have gained first hand experience with industry partners such as Embraer and have worked on multiple projects involving CAD design/3D Printing aircraft. The course also allows me to have extensive flight simulation use. This has most definitely helped me in understanding how aircraft behave in real-world situations as in the classroom I can replicate real-world emergencies and unsafe weather scenarios. Studying Aviation Operations at the International Air and Space Training Institute (IASTI) has made me discern the intricate and highly important job of aerospace engineering, the course has taught me the importance of aerodynamies and aircraft performance, where I had to demonstrate my understanding of the different types of engines and aerofoil design through the completion of multiple assignments



Furthermore, I am also a RAFAC (Royal Air Force Air Cadet), the cadets have been the highlight of my journey so far, and achieving a master air cadet is something I am incredibly proud of. To achieve this, I had to undertake lessons and examinations in Air Navigation, Principles of flight, Rocketry, and many more. The cadets have provided me with the confidence and leadership I needed to excel in my future endeavours.



The subject of Aerospace Engineering appeals to me as it directly aligns with my personal qualities, I am highly adaptable, organised, and team focused. In the aviation industry, these qualities play a key role in ensuring success and progress. I am elated to begin the next chapter of my educational journey which will enable me to further progress these qualities. I am especially looking forward to developing my talents and doing my part to contribute to the success of the industry.



Some of my greatest achievements are the Gold Duke of Edinburgh award, I was mentally and physically pushed to complete the award over the course of 4 years. I learned many skills such as teamwork and dedication which are skills that are most definitely used in the aviation industry, where pushing yourself to complete high-stress jobs and working alongside other engineers is crucial in completing the task. have also achieved my gliding scholarship with the RAFAC, the scholarship has provided me with valuable flight experience where I have been training with instructors on the ground and in the air in a Viking TI glider, furthermore, in the near future I will be performing my first solo flight, this high-stress environment provides me with a great opportunity to learn about on-time performance and meeting deadlines which is also paramount in aerospace engineering.
I have a huge range of personal interests and I take pride in knowing I partake in so many activities outside of my academic studies. From a young age, I was surrounded by mechanical parts and engineering projects that I helped my dad to complete, this enabled me to gain plenty of experience and understanding of basic engineering concepts. I have also designed and built 5 computers from scratch, the importance of understanding the basics of how computers function is vital in this day and age, this is especially important in the world of aerospace engineering where the industry has taken a huge shift in involving computers within every aspect of the aircraft.
