In 2016, the Stevens bought the nearby Mermaids Casino and the Glitter Gulch strip membership. Mermaids and Glitter Gulch closed later in 2016, with plans to demolish them to make extra room for the new resort. Derek Stevens had initially deliberate to construct a resort on the site referred to as Fortunate Line, designed by Paul Steelman. That 12 months, Derek Stevens also bought a 2-acre site across the road from the Las Vegas Club, between the Plaza Resort & Casino and the principle Road Station. Derek Stevens initially thought-about renovating the Las Vegas Membership, however he disliked its design and decided to demolish it solely to build a brand new resort in its place.
