Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award

The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg as the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is introduced yearly to a person who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to enhancing the lives of kids in our group.
Brian Houchins, a devoted elementary school teacher and community volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s schooling and welfare. Over the past ten years, his efforts have significantly impacted the lives of numerous kids in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives include establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged students, weekend workshops focusing on literacy and numeracy skills for at-risk youth, and leading a profitable community-driven marketing campaign to upgrade native playgrounds, guaranteeing protected and inclusive play spaces for all kids.
The award ceremony might be held on January 15, 2024, on the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The occasion will characteristic speeches from native dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
