The City of Atlanta

In the summer of 1881 twenty laundresses from Atlanta formed the Washing Society and started a strike to gain more money. Other notable landmarks include Piedmont Park and the Margaret Mitchell House. The city also is home to many bars and restaurants, and is a major hub for regional business and professional sports. The city is also a major military hub and a center of federal government activities in the Southeast.


The Struggle
