Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award
Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023
The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg because the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is introduced annually to a person who has demonstrated distinctive dedication to enhancing the lives of youngsters in our group.
Brian Houchins, a dedicated elementary college instructor and group volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s training and welfare. Over the past ten years, his efforts have considerably impacted the lives of countless children in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives embody establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged students, weekend workshops focusing on literacy and numeracy expertise for at-risk youth, and main a successful community-driven campaign to upgrade native playgrounds, guaranteeing protected and inclusive play areas for all children.
The award ceremony shall be held on January 15, 2024, on the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The occasion will feature speeches from local dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.

His dedication to our community’s youngsters goes above and beyond, making a real distinction of their lives,” stated Sarah Jennings, Director of the Child Center of Pennsylvania. “His ardour for helping children to succeed is an inspiration to us all.”
