Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award
Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023
The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg as the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is introduced annually to an individual who has demonstrated distinctive dedication to improving the lives of youngsters in our community.
Brian Houchins, a devoted elementary college teacher and neighborhood volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s education and welfare. Over the previous ten years, his efforts have significantly impacted the lives of numerous kids in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives embrace establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged students, weekend workshops focusing on literacy and numeracy expertise for at-risk youth, and leading a profitable community-driven marketing campaign to upgrade local playgrounds, ensuring protected and inclusive play areas for all kids.
