BROKEN PROMISE.
(Meeting best friend for the last time before she moves back) Updated version!
I was at the airport waiting for my flight when I suddenly remembered something that happened a few years ago. Memories flooded through my mind as I recalled that sad, regretful day.

It was the day, the day my best friend was moving back to her country. Amy, my best friend of 6yrs was moving back to her country. She had came to Singapore at a young age as her father had found a job. Now, she had to move back. We all knew she had to. But this soon? No. The 6yrs she was here flew by so fast. She was my first friend I made when I entered primary school, the first friend that genuinely cared for me. Now, she was going to leave. Luckily, we made plans to meet for one final time before she leaves.

I woke up with a blank mind. In less than a second, my mind travelled to Amy, my plan to meet Amy. I quickly got up and discovered that it was 9am. I had to meet Amy at 10am before she left to the departure hall. Amy had to leave in an hour and I just woke up. I was late! Quickly, I got ready.

It was 9.30am. I was extremely late. 30 minutes to go to the airport. Would I make it? I went to the nearby bus stop and waited for the bus anxiously. In no time, the bus arrived. I got on and quickly found a seat. It was a long journey to the airport. I stared at the floor, praying that I would not be late to meet my best friend for the last time before she leaves. My initial plan was to wake up at 8am, not 9am. In doing so, I had more time to spend at the airport with Amy. Unfortunately, that plan fell through the roof considering I didn't wake up on time. I was still tired when I boarded the bus. My eyelids got heavier second by second. In the blink of an eye, I entered a world of darkness.

I woke up when I felt my phone vibrating. It was missed calls from Amy. I stared at my phone when I realised what had happened. I slept on the bus and missed my stop to the airport! The time was 10.10am, past the time I was supposed to meet her. She probably already entered the departure hall. My heart was pounding furiously. I tried to call Amy several times but to no avail. Her parents most likely took her phone away after she called me for the final time. I had missed the chance to meet my best friend one last time. Not only that, but I was also stranded at a random bus stop. If only I had not slept on the bus and woke up on time. How i deeply regret what i did. I missed the chance to meet my best friend before she left. I broke our promise.

I snapped back into reality when I heard the speaker calling for my flight. "Flight 676 passengers, please make ur way to the gate!" I got up with a heavy heart, still thinking about my broken promise with Amy. If I could ever see her again, the first thing I would do is apologise for breaking our promise.
