Dr. Jennifer Laidlaw


Jennifer Laidlaw earned her MD from the University of British Columbia before doing an internship in Psychiatry. She was involved in medical education during her residency and has presented and published at international conferences on subjects like delirium screening social media, and professionalism. She began her career as the Head of Consultation Liaison (CL) Psychology at Surrey Memorial Hospital where she concentrated on establishing a flourishing and highly collaborative CL service which provides psychiatric care for patients on medical and surgical wards including the palliative care and oncology units. She also was awarded an Facilities Engagement grant to develop guidelines for management of vulnerable patients in hospitals.

She is also the provincial practice director for Psychiatry in BC Cancer, Clinical Associate professor at UBC and the Past-President of the BC Psychiatric Association. She is an assistant professor at Tufts University School of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry and adjunct faculty in the UM PM&R & Family Medicine residency programs. She has had a long-standing interest in musculoskeletal research and education. She teaches Neuromuscular Medicine and Musculoskeletal Medicine for Family Medicine Residents. She also has ongoing research projects in musculoskeletal educational, electrodiagnostic medical and performing arts-medicine.

Dr. Pulkit Sing completed her medical degree from the University of New South Wales before finishing her Psychiatry Residency at the University of British Columbia. During her residency, she received the Psychotherapy Award and an Undergraduate Teaching Award to recognize her achievements in these areas. She has worked in a variety of Psychiatry areas and has a particular interest in Cardiac Psychiatry.

Dr. Nadeesha Fernando is a psychiatrist who treats adults of all ages in BC Cancer. She has a particular interest in Psychooncology and enjoys working with people who are older. She has been interested for a long time in geriatric psychiatry and has worked as a consultant for the Geriatric Psychiatry Consult Liaison Service (GPCLS) as well as the ECT Service at Vancouver General Hospital. She also serves as a teacher and mentor for medical students and residents.

Dr. Theresa Lo

Dr Theresa Lo is a graduate of the University of British Columbia, where she completed her medical school and residency in psychiatry. She has worked for the BC Cancer Agency and Surrey Mental Health. She has a clinical practice that incorporates dialectical behaviour therapy and psychodynamic psychology. She is fluently able to speak Cantonese.

Dr. Karim has been trained at Guy's King's St Thomas' and St George's hospitals in London and is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. She is on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council and has been practicing psychiatry for over 20 years. She has an interest in child and adolescent psychiatry.

Dr. Richford started her career as a nurse. She then pursued a degree in medicine, obtaining her MD from Dalhousie. She has worked in many Psychiatry areas which include Addiction Psychiatry, Consultation Liaison Psychiatry, Psycho-oncology and many more. She is a psychiatrist on staff for Providence Health Care, Vancouver General Hospital and BC Cancer Vancouver and an Associate Professor at UBC. She is a former president of the British Columbia Psychiatric Association.

She is a board member of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is a member of both the Association of Physicians and Surgeons of Ohio and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is a member of the Eighth Judicial District Court and Federal Sixth Circuit Court.
