He claims that his poor performance review in June 2000 and the failure to grant him certain project assignments were motivated by racism or national origin animus. However, there is no evidence that Medtronic's decisions were based upon those factors. Furthermore, Elayaperumal's less-than-perfect performance review did not lead to an increase in his compensation or benefits, or even his the responsibilities he had.
