The Best Self Emptying Robot Vacuum
The best self-emptying robot vacuum features a base that holds a month's worth of debris and empties automatically. It creates a detailed home map, allowing you identify rooms and to create "no go" zones.
It also comes with superior obstacle avoidance capabilities, so that it can stay away from power cords and rogue socks.
Roomba s9+ from iRobot
This robot is a premium model from iRobot and it performs very well. It can easily move across different surfaces and is extremely effective in sucking dust, dirt and other debris away. It's also sturdy and looks good too.
The S9 is the latest iRobot premium S Series robot vacuum. It boasts a few extra features that make it stand out from other models. The iRobot App use, for instance, the camera to create a map that allows the unit to navigate and clean effectively.
It can also automatically return to the location where it started if its battery is depleted during cleaning which means you don't have to spend time cleaning the same areas. You can also manually start and stop cleaning sessions using a simple voice command or via the iRobot app. This smart vacuum will even clean in the dark!
Carpet Boost is another great feature. It provides the S9 more suction power when it comes into contact with carpeting, so it will be able to pick up more dirt. It also features an elongated front design that is more close to the corners and walls as opposed to the earlier round designs. However, keep in mind that this model doesn't do well with shag or high-pile carpeting.
During our testing during our testing, we discovered that the iRobot S9+ cleans thoroughly and efficiently on a range of flooring surfaces, ranging from medium-pile to hard carpets and rugs. It also performed well on vinyl, and laminate flooring. It did a good job of navigating around furniture and objects, but it did have some issues with stairs where it could accidentally crash into bookcases.
The S9's ability to return to its base and empty its dust bin once it's full was a fantastic feature. It eliminated the requirement for manual maintenance. The dust bag should last about 30 loads, or about two months and you'll need to replace the filter every once every so often (which is actually recommended by iRobot). In our experience, the iRobot S9+ doesn't get very loud during operation, so it's a good option for those living with kids or pets.
Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid
designed to remove one of the most difficult tasks off your shoulders, robot vacuum cleaners take care of all the work and get carpeted and hardwood floors free of the everyday dust. Some robot vacuum cleaners are able to be controlled by apps on smartphones, and others feature mopping technology for kitchen and bathroom flooring. They're an excellent choice for busy families, and they are becoming more affordable. If you want the latest technology in your robotic cleaner then you'll need to pay a bit more.
The Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid vacuum and mopping machine is a fantastic choice for those living in a multi-floored home. Its dual motors offer incredible cleaning power, and the vacuum's 0.6l dust bin can hold a lot of pet hair. The dust bin is easy to remove and emptied which is great as you'll be required to do this regularly.
It's easy to set it up as well, but I do recommend fully charging the X8 Hybrid before running it for the first time. You'll need to install the Eufy Home app and follow the directions for connecting to your Wi-Fi network. The app will assist you draw a map of your house. You can name the rooms, divide large spaces into sub-rooms to facilitate open-plan living and guide the X8 Hybrid towards specific areas in need of cleaning at a particular time. Many other robots offer similar mapping and scanning functions, but Eufy's application is more refined and user-friendly than others.
The X8 Hybrid has a great feature: you can control the mop or vacuum cleaner through voice thanks to the integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. This is a nice feature that makes the robot even more hands-free, and it is very effective in our test home.
Like other robotic vacuums, the X8 Hybrid has some issues with floors that are not clean. It is prone to miss fur and other small objects, and tends to bump things like its charger on the charging platform. It's also not as quiet and the whirring sound could be distracting as other models.
Roborock V3S pro
This model doesn't have as many features as some of the more expensive models we've tested, but it does cover the basics. It has a large enough dust bin to hold plenty of dirt before it's time to empty it and its mop and vacuum system is great for carpets with low pile and hard floors. It's also quiet. We were able watch the TV while it was cleaning without feeling like we were constantly bombarded by noise.
Our test subjects were impressed with how easy it was to set up and use, and were amazed by its ability to clean all the messes off their floors. It was successful in getting rid of pet hair, messes, and carpeting, but it was more difficult in getting rid of stains that were stubborn. The app was simple to use and intuitive. They were able schedule the vacuum to clean regularly to minimize the amount of manual work. The only downside is that it doesn't have any mapping technology or object avoidance, which means you aren't able to send it to specific rooms or follow virtual boundaries (though magnetic boundary strips work).
Another model from iRobot's low-cost line which is the V3S Pro has some impressive features for the price. It was the best robot vacuum we tested to avoid obstacles and map them. It's also a great budget choice for those seeking a more intelligent, self-emptying robot vacuum that can take care of hair and pet messes on hardwood floors or carpets with low pile. It's also very quiet and has a huge dust bin that holds lots of debris before it has to empty and you don't have to worry about constantly emptying it.
While the V3S Pro didn't earn a place in any of our top picks roundups from reliable sources that conduct hands-on tests, it was highly praised by reviewers at Modern Castle, Smart Robot Reviews and The Ambient. The V3S Pro was simple to use and set up, however the battery life was short.
Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is an entry-level robot vacuum cleaner that comes with a variety of features at a fair cost. You can avail many of the premium features, including smart navigation and mapping without paying top dollar. You can utilize voice commands with Alexa, Google Assistant or Apple Siri shortcuts for custom automations, as well as to begin your cleaning process while you are away.
Roborock spent a lot of time designing this smart cleaner. The product is built to last and feels like high-end materials were used to make it. Its base is strong and solid, and has an integrated charging port for the battery. There's a docking station for the clean-water tank as well as the bins for dirty water on top. You'll also find a wall beneath the dock, which houses the vacuum bag that is sealed.
After connecting your device to the app, you'll see a 3D and 2D map of your home that shows you the location of your robot at any given moment and the specific area it's cleaning. You can also create virtual barriers to ensure that the robot isn't in certain areas and ensure it's only cleaning specific kinds of floors. It is also able to adjust its power settings according to the type of floor that is being cleaned. Select the most effective cleaning method.
The Q Revo is unique to many other robot vacuums because it can lift both of its mop heads while vacuuming. This helps to prevent carpet fibers from getting stained. It's actually one of the few vacuums that can accomplish this.
When it comes to mopping the Q Revo's 5500Pa suction power are sufficient to remove dust particles or pet hair strands and other debris. The all-rubber brush works well to disentangle human and animal hair as it adapts to uneven surfaces.
Its only downside is that it can take an extended time to empty and fill the clean and dirty water tanks. You can cut down on this frequency by using the auto-empty function which will empty the bin on its own after a few days. robot mop is still necessary to check the level of water in the dock manually though, as there isn't an automatic reminder.
