The Best Robot Vacuum For Carpet Awards: The Top, Worst, Or Weirdest Things We've Ever Seen
The Best Robot Vacuum For Carpet

There's a robot that can be found for any carpet type, whether it's high-pile or low-pile. These smart appliances automatically navigate through your home, pick up debris and even clean under furniture.

A lot of them come with advanced features, like mapping, which helps them navigate around your home and keep track of furniture positioning. They can also boost the suction power in order to clean up surfaces that are dirtier.

iRobot Roomba 694"

The iRobot Roomba is a budget-friendly robot vacuum that works well on both bare flooring and carpets with low pile. It has a good suction however it has trouble with larger debris such as sand or grains of rice. It is capable of cleaning pet hair, but it is not as resistant to knots as premium Roomba models like the I6 and j7.

The Roomba is easy to use. It has a trio of buttons on its top cover: 'Clean' launches a cleaning cycle and 'Dock' places it back into its charging station and 'Spot Clean' initiates the targeted cleaning. You can control it via a smartphone application that allows you to schedule cycles, stop and start them and adjust settings. It is also possible to pair the device to smart home devices like Alexa or Google Assistant to control it through voice commands.

This vacuum cleaner is slower than others, but can still reach most corners and crevices. It comes with a large bin that makes it easy to empty. It is compatible with digital maps and virtual barriers which let you make it impossible to clean certain areas or to stop completely cleaning in order to prevent it from getting stuck on something.

It's not the most effective for its price, however it's better than the majority of other options. The Roborock E4 has a better cleaning efficiency than the Roomba 694, and it is able to clean both low-pile and bare carpets. It also has a longer-lasting battery and a better path. It also feels more durable, has fewer parts that require regular maintenance, costs less to own over the course of its life, and charges faster than the 694.

It's also worth considering other, more premium models within the iRobot range, such as the 981 or the v7. The 981 and v7 are more expensive but offer significant improvements in cleaning performance for both bare and low pile floors. They also have a larger dirt compartment and charge faster, move more easily and are easier to pair up with smart home devices.

Shark RV1001AE IQ

This self-emptying robot that is budget-friendly does a good job on hard floors and carpets with a low pile. Its combination brush gets into edges and corners, and it automatically boosts suction when it senses carpet. It also does a good job of cleaning dirt from carpet in the middle. The IQ has a small footprint and has a self-emptying feature. However, if you want to alter the floor level on the map or create no-go zones, you'll need manually reset it to do this, which can be a bit of a hassle.

The IQ app provides advanced mapping and automated features, however it lacks no-go zones. These are available only on iRobot robots. The smart-pathing navigation system provides greater maneuverability and its high-pile carpet mode cleans well, although it is prone to get caught up on rug tassels. Its iHome speaker lets you control the robot using voice commands.

In our tests, we discovered that the IQ handled pet hair with ease. It was able to eliminate the majority of hair on bare floors and a good amount on medium-pile rug. It was less efficient with shag carpets, where it struggled to get at dirt and dust embedded within the fibers. It was capable of maneuvering the legs of chairs and tight spaces as well as the wooden base of an IKEA step stool. It was a little slower on bare floors however it soon recovered speed and performed more thoroughly than the other robots we tried.

The IQ is a better choice over the iRobot Roomba 694 for most uses. It has a bigger dustbin and a longer battery life and is more adept at navigating obstacles. It also comes with mopping attachments that can tackle sticky messes. The iRobot, on the other hand feels better built and has less components that require maintenance or replacement and incurs fewer ongoing costs, and can even create virtual no go zones using its companion app. It can even resume the cleaning process from where it left off if it runs out of battery before having completed the task. The iRobot can also be controlled via voice, which is a huge benefit for many users.

Eufy 11S

The eufy RoboVac 11S robot vacuum isn't one of the most advanced models, but it offers excellent cleaning power for affordable prices. It's designed for those who don't require a complex mapping system or app to control the device. The robot can run for a long time and comes with a remote, cleaning tool, AC power adapter, charging base, and additional filters.

The 11S is slim and sleek, with an upper deck of tempered glass that covers plastic and is made to look like brushed aluminum. It's a nice different from Roomba, Samsung, and Neato designs that are more utilitarian and industrial.

In our tests, the eufy11S was very effective in removing larger particles and fine dust on hard floors. However, it was unable to give medium and high pile carpeting an effective deep clean. The device is also prone to smack into furniture and people in its path however, it is able to detect those obstacles using sensors. When it comes across them, it halts and emits an alarm so that you can manually guide it around the obstacle and then get back to work.

Another fantastic feature of the eufy11S is its BoostIQ mode that lets you set the robot to automatically adjust its suction strength to match floor type and level of mess. It's also easy to use the remote to direct the 11S to where you want it to go.

If you don't have much furniture in the room you're looking to vacuum, Single Room Mode is an excellent alternative. The eufy can spend 30 minutes cleaning the space it is assigned to.

You can also choose Edge Cleaning, which limits the amount of time spent in each location to 20 minutes for maximum battery life. By selecting this option the eufy can move in a spiral to clean edges and corners for an efficient clean.

Miele Complete C1

The Miele Complete C1 canister robot is a great mid-range vacuum cleaner that is a winner on carpet. Its performance on carpets with no floor is also exceptional. It can pick up small particles like rice easily and it doesn't suffer from suction efficiency even as its dirt bin fills. find out this here is a breathable one and its air-sealed body traps allergens and keeps your family healthy. It comes with an onboard HEPA and self-emptying bin which means you don't require additional filters or vacuum bags.

It's not as effective as the more expensive models, but is still great for deep cleaning and tackling the toughest stains. Its two front cameras deliver a live image feed on your smartphone, and it has one of the best obstacles-avoiding systems we've seen. It comes with a large bin, a long runtime and an easy, bump-free clean-up.

The Complete C1 is unlike most robots because it can switch between a standard head and a turbo for different types of flooring. The turbo head is best with high-pile or low-pile carpeting, while the standard powerhead is ideal for floors with no flooring and light rug. It also has an automatic height adjustment system that allows it to adapt to various types flooring without manual adjustments.

This model comes with the SBD 285-3 Classic Combination Floorhead, which can be used on both carpets with a hard surface and carpets with a medium pile. The motor can also be easily maneuvered and get into difficult areas. It has five different surface adjustments and a brushroll-off switch to prevent hairs from getting tangled.

The Classic C1 has a self cleaning brush roll, it has a UtraClean Mode that can clean the same area up to three times, and a self emptying dustbin that you can empty by pressing a single button. Its noise level is a little higher than some other models however its powerful 1,200-watt motor as well as sturdy build make it worth the extra cost.

If you're willing to pay a little more then the Miele Complete C3 canister robot vacuum is a great all-around robot vacuum. It performs better on carpets than the Classic C1. It is more efficient on all types of floors and is more solidly constructed, and includes an HEPA filter.
