Simple to use

This black Nespresso machine that is basic in appearance, is easy to maintain and use. It features a minimalist, simple design with just one button on the top that controls powering, rinsing, making coffee and much more. Remove the lid, place the capsule inside, and press to start making coffee. It's quick to heat up and offers various drink options, such as double-shot espresso, a 5 8 or 18-ounce cup of coffee. It also comes with a steaming tool to add a cafe-like texture to your drinks. We love the small design and easy-to-use interface, but we found that this machine doesn't make as rich a coffee or espresso as some of the more expensive models. It's also not as easy to recycle the capsules as other machines in our tests. This Nespresso was not the top choice in our side-by-side test due to these reasons.

Quick to Brew

The Nespresso machine brews a cup of coffee in approximately 15 seconds. The hot water from the reservoir is introduced through a pump, and then through small holes on the top of the coffee pod. It then mixes with the compacted ground coffee inside, and then drips into your cup. The machine produced an extremely rich, delicious espresso with just a hint of bite when we tested it with Jones Brothers and Bestpresso coffee capsules. We also tried whole, almond milk and 2% and found that all performed well.

Easy to clean

Cleaning a Nespresso machine is essential both inside and out. This will keep the machine in good condition and ensure its security. This also improves the taste of your coffee. It is possible to clean a Nespresso with a variety cleaners, including vinegar. It is however recommended to use a descaling solution instead, as vinegar could cause damage to the machine.

To clean your Nespresso machine, remove all pods. Then, clean the drip tray and the capsule container. Then you can fill a sink or a large bowl with warm water and add a few squirts dish soap. Let the drip tray and container soak in the soapy water for some time to remove the gunk and stain. Rinse the drip tray and capsule container using hot water. Then apply a nonabrasive cloth or sponge to remove any residues or stains. After you scrub the drip tray and capsule containers, rinse them again and allow them to dry completely before returning them to the machine.

After your machine has been cleaned and descaled, it's time to clean it. Follow the steps in your user manual to follow a particular procedure. Otherwise, you can create a DIY descaling solution with citric acid or white vinegar. If you're using vinegar, be sure to use white vinegar, not apple or balsamic vinegar, as these are too aggressive for this purpose.
