Aphrodite felt pity and sorrow for Medes. She did not want his legacy to end, as he was a hero and champion of the gods and goddesses. She took some of his hair and used it to create a son.
She named the son Aphroelam, the god of destiny, requiem, sacrifice, and constellations. Aphroelam was born with the same fire and light as his father, Medes.
The son carried on his father's legacy, and the gods and goddesses rejoiced.
